Re: 2021 fixture
Realistic chance to win 12 of our first 15 matches but a tougher end to the season.
Feel like that’s a pretty good draw for us

I see no one is suggesting we continue with that ridiculous decision to sell one of our home games to Port and play in f****** China.

Move round 11 to the Junction. St Kilda vs North Melbourne...
I think we might be 2-4 after 6 before we get our wheels spinning and then crush six in a row.
Reckon GWS, Port and Melbourne might get us early.

St Kilda’s hopes of improving on last year’s fairytale finals run have been dealt a blow with a savage 2021 fixture.
The Saints jumped from 14th to sixth last season, knocking out the Western Bulldogs in a thrilling elimination final before falling to eventual premier Richmond.
But Brett Ratten’s job just got harder. In the newly released 2021 fixture St Kilda plays the Tigers twice and also has double-ups against top-four sides Geelong and Port Adelaide. The Saints’ other return matches are against West Coast (fifth) and Sydney (16th).
The Eagles, meanwhile, have avoided double-ups against any of the top-four teams from this year, with return matches against the Saints, Bulldogs and Collingwood as well as the Dockers and 2020 wooden spooner Adelaide.
Richmond plays five of its last seven games at the MCG including blockbuster match-ups against Geelong, Brisbane and Collingwood, finishing with a home game against Hawthorn.
The Tigers’ two matches against beaten 2020 Grand Finalist Geelong are both scheduled for the MCG.
Scroll down to see who your club has to play twice in 2021 below, and bookmark this page for more expert analysis.
When do we see a rematch of the Grand Final sides?
Not until Round 8. The Tigers will unfurl their 2019 and 2020 premiership flags at the MCG for the season opener against Carlton. They will then host just two more home games across the opening six rounds at the MCG before taking on the Cats on their famous turf.
What early grudge matches can we sink our teeth into?
The league has tried to schedule at least one clash between arch enemies in the opening six rounds, including Essendon v Hawthorn (Round 1), Carlton v Collingwood (Round 2), Geelong v Hawthorn (Round 3), Sydney v GWS Giants (Round 5), GWS Giants v Western Bulldogs (Round 6) and Collingwood v Essendon (Round 7)
What are the key selling points of the draw?
Football is becoming a four-day weekend across March and April, with five Thursday night matches in the first five weeks. Stretching the weekend will equate to great exposure for clubs as 14 of the 18 teams will feature in marquee Thursday and/or Friday timeslots across the opening six weeks.
Are there any AFL-AFLW double headers on the program?
Two across the first two weeks. In Round 1, the Brisbane-Sydney clash at The Gabba on Saturday night (March 20) will follow Brisbane-Collingwood in the AFLW. In Round Two, it will be a true doubleheader — Gold Coast v North Melbourne at Metricon Stadium in the men’s and women’s competitions.
What is happening on Anzac Day?
Because it falls on a Sunday, the league has scheduled three matches: the Hawks will host the Crows at Launceston, Collingwood will tackle Essendon at the MCG in the traditional Anzac Day blockbuster, while Port Adelaide and St Kilda will round out the day at Adelaide Oval in a 6.20pm kick-off.

"In line with the current fixture arrangement, the Saints will travel interstate seven times, including to Cairns in Round 13 against Adelaide in place of the China game."
I don't see why the saints have to forgo a home match at Marvel to play an Adelaide side in f****** Cairns as there is nothing in it for us.
If the AFL really want to promote football in FNQ why not use the Gold Coast or the Lions FFS.
That would make far more sense.

Re: 2021 fixture
Interesting. I have the opposite view. What do you like about it?
I reckon that we have a very poor draw, and less easier games amongst those teams looking to make the eight.
Of the teams we play twice the only low ranked team is Sydney, and the four that we play twice could easily finish in the Top 4. That is a stinker IMO.

Play twice: West Coast, Richmond, Port Adelaide, Geelong, Sydney

Tough draw. If we're good enough to play finals with that draw, then we're a pretty good team. If we make Top 4, with that draw, then we're a bloody good team and could win the whole damn thing.

Re: 2021 fixture
Yeah fk it. Let's play the best twice. We're a chance to beat West Coast twice, Sydney twice and maybe the Tiges have had enough so we might get 1. Geelong may be tough but I feel like we match up against Port pretty well so maybe 1 or 2 out of 3. The rest will take care of itself. Glass half full.

A hard draw or a soft draw is only based on past history, last years form - I dont get using the draw as an excuse for failure - its a cop out
If we're any good we'll eat it up and personally I cant wait

I feel sorry for those poor suckers that have to play us twice. They'd have been a lot happier about it 2 seasons ago.
We broke a few hoodoos last year, it's time to start pointing the stick ourselves and bite like a big dog.

First 13 games... which ones are not winnable?
Toughest is Geelong or WCE at Marvel.
Or Port in Adelaide where we beat them last season.
