Re: Frawley a Saint
I'm surprised Frawley is only 193cm, a lot of players are deemed too short to be a KPD at 193cm, especially when playing on the Gorilla forwards, just ask the Port defenders.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Interesting it notes that Joyce and Claravino (sp?) to continue as rookies next year.
I thought they were both on the main list or am I just horribly behind the eight ball.

They were put on the 'Rookie' list yesterday, freeing up 2 spots on the main list.SinCitySainter wrote: ↑Thu 26 Nov 2020 5:16pm Interesting it notes that Joyce and Claravino (sp?) to continue as rookies next year.

Re: James Frawley a Saint
The AFL has just made a new rule allowing clubs to transfer 2 players direct from their senior list to their rookie list.Mr Magic wrote: ↑Thu 26 Nov 2020 5:32pmThey were put on the 'Rookie' list yesterday, freeing up 2 spots on the main list.SinCitySainter wrote: ↑Thu 26 Nov 2020 5:16pm Interesting it notes that Joyce and Claravino (sp?) to continue as rookies next year.

No need to delist them and risk aa delisted free agent bid, or a senior or rookie drafting by another club.
Recognition that with the reduction in senior lists many clubs were looking to get senior players to their rookie lists.
AFL too late off course, with many clubs already having made the delistings earlier.

That’s what I was thinking.
Jake better be a good boy.
Why didn't they just retain Nathan Brown or is it because he retired and Frawley was an afterthought by the regime?

If Frawley plays then our season has not gone to plan. Insurance at best. Best 22 at worst!

Glass half empty glass half full for me. Not sure if it's a good move but another Frawley at the club surely can't be a bad thing can it

I think we were left exposed when Carlisle wasn’t there in the Semi Final. I’m happy to have Frawley cover as insurance. Also comes in at a great trade price. Free! My favourite way to grab a player.

Re: James Frawley a Saint
Frawley plays when we play teams with 2 big forwards such as Geelong, Richmond and WCE, who will all make up the top 4 so that’ll include finals.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Thu 26 Nov 2020 8:22pm If Frawley plays then our season has not gone to plan. Insurance at best. Best 22 at worst!

Re: James Frawley a Saint
Good pick up
Frawley looked like he had at least another good year left in him.
Some good experience topping out a formidable younger brigade.
Setting ourselves up to go for it.

Re: James Frawley a Saint
I think it’s really that simple
He starts behind Carlisle and Howard and a dare say that in the right circumstances that Clavarino will play more games (if we are indeed serious about him).
But we were found absolutely lacking in the SF without Carlisle and the decision regarding Brown’s retirement killed us because he would have played for sure.
I would imagine the plan is for him to maintain a standard of fitness and play the majority of the season at Sandy, and do about 80% of the program to keep fit and fresh should he be needed in an emergency
He’s quite literally plan C
