Heath played only a sole NAB League game last season and 2020 was to be a development year, with an eye to him returning to the Dragons as a 19-year-old in 2021. But that all changed after a pre-season of development and some eye-catching practice matches earlier this year. That put the son of former Fitzroy-listed player Nick right on the radar of multiple AFL clubs. Heath is seen as a competitive beast and had targeted becoming the No.1 ruckman in the NAB League this season.

We saw him maybe playing a few games and being a development player this year but he jumped right up. By halftime in our first intraclub this year we’re going, geez, big Max is going OK here. Take it to the bank that he will be picked up by the Saints!!!

Had a look at his profile on afldraftcentral, looks a bit like a bigger version of Big Carl Ditterich (193 cm 91 kg) who made his debut for St Kilda at age 20 in 1965.

Wouldn't mind him at all and maybe on the club's radar when deciding to delist Jack Bell....

I thought Nexus Helen or whatever she/he/it's name might be had departed this site permanently for Big Farty, after seemingly predicting every possible scenario for the trade period except what actually eventuated.

I confidently predict that we will use our pick either to snare Max Heath or somebody else.

If it's someone else, then there will turn out to have been a last minute problem with getting Heath that Nexus's friend had told them about and she/he/it hadn't been able to get back onto SS in time to warn us about.

I think Big Carl debuted round 1 1963 at the Junction Oval against Melbourne. The saints made the move to Moorabbin in 1965.

We really need a Ruck forward or Back and he sounds good. But what if the best player is a 180 cm mid do we draft him instead that is what gags has indicated best player left not what we need.
Plus young heath is around the 40 range our first pick is around late 20s.
We desperately need young bigs we delisted so many and with Chips coming in we get a experience player but how much footy will he actually play and then he takes up a list spot for a young guy not sure if its a good idea we look very venerable down back if we get a injury to a tall.

This is where Gags list management skills come to the fore. We will need another ruckman in this years draft or next or via trade. This years ruckman Max Heath or Shannon Neale (WA) we may not know a lot about them but the good thing about that is it will allow them to slide in the draft. The other option is a sliding midfielder as we can never have too many quality mids on our list.

The issue with ruckman is not that many of them can play forward and as ruckman, similiarly to Marshall if thats what they want. Neale's BIO suggests he displayed some forward traits this year and appears the most athletic of the ruckman if that helps him.

Gags will put his faith in Libartore and the recruiting team. If they had done there home work in this years draft class last year and this they may desperately want a player. As we allowed the swap of the Richmond Ist round in the Higgins deal, my call is they are confident they can get the player they want later in the Ist and thats why I believe our first round pick will be a ruckman.
