I reckon this is pure 'theatre' by the Crows.
It's not a difficult decision to make.
Either he's worth what we've offered (including the compensation pick) or he's not.
If he's worth more (compensation pick) then they should keep him for the next 4/5 years or until they can trade him (with his contract) to another Club for a better pick than the compensation pick that's on offer.

Barret has said Adelaide chose not to match

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

So,
5pm has come and gone.
No news from Crows
Does that mean their ability to match has lapsed?

Adelaide trade Crouch and pick 20 and pick 50 to St Kilda

St Kilda trade pick 15 and pick 58 and Dunstan to Adelaide

Source - My friends wife works for one of Adelaide's masseurs.

The deal is heavily in our favour still so in effect we still get Crouch "free" with just a 5 pick downgrade and salary dump Dunstan.

I can promise you after we lodge the paperwork Adelaide will not be matching the offer and he will get to us as a FA.
Just saying.......

Adelaide still have not lodged a matching offer.
Two days gone of maximum of three.
Mark Ricciuto, Adelaide's football director is yet to find a face saving way to say "I am a d**khead for suggesting we would match any offer that did not provide pick no 2".

Adelaide did not want to offer Crouch a four year contract with a five year trigger and they did not want to pay close to $700k per year.
But that is what they have to do if they match and St Kilda walks away saying we are not trading.

Clearly Ricciuto suffered too many concussions during his playing days.

This is how it went down.

Well done Saintas a quality player for zero cost in draft picks.
Suggestion is $600k to $650k per year

https://www.afl.com.au/news/523634/crou ... atch-offer

It means we got pick 23 for free from the AFL.

A masterly insight. How much did you win on Anthony van Dyke in the Cup yesterday?

Yep. We've made off like bandits! It feels good to be on the right side of some wins on and off the park.

Now hopefully BC can string a few seasons together, injury free.
