Lethlean on SEN
Simon Lethlean has ruled out any interest we in Adam Treloar, stating we don't have the assets or salary cap to do a deal for him.
Regarding Jack Higgins, he indicated there hasn't been an official request that Jack wants to join us at this point.
He played a straight bat regarding Lonie & Carlisle, as you expect, saying they have been made an offer and are currently weighing things up.
Claims he hasn't heard about the Ross connection with Essendon.
I'm sure the podcast of this will be up on SEN website tomorrow.

Thought that myself...seems to be circulating around media circles we're Higgins club of choice.
I think Lethers is being a bit coy due to him being a contracted player.

Yeah he gave nothing which is fair enough but not worth listening to or even doing as a result. You can say nothing off air too.

There's also a lot of conjecture about list sizes and salary cap limits that haven't yet been announced that could impact on all trades. Once they're announced by the AFL - I reckon there'll be a lot more movement of those who aren't A grade stars/free agentsSaintmike65 wrote: ↑Thu 29 Oct 2020 3:54pm

Well I reckon it’s true, they were keen a few years back. I reckon he can see the writing on the wall that he’ll be squeezed out of the midfield next year and with the back 6 locked in there isn’t a spot for him in the 22saynta wrote: ↑Thu 29 Oct 2020 4:27pmI'm betting the Ross to the drug cheats story is just made up crap.Saintmike65 wrote: ↑Thu 29 Oct 2020 3:32pm Simon Lethlean has ruled out any interest we in Adam Treloar, stating we don't have the assets or salary cap to do a deal for him.

To me it read that we have made an offer to him but he hasn’t got back to us yet.

No mention of Ben KIng.
That makes him a certainty.

Just keeping it close lipped.
No value in letting other clubs know what we are planning.
Very smart operator is Lethlean.

Is the best recruit to come to St Kilda (administration wise) for as long as I can remember. The guy is a star and if anyone can do it he and the people he has around him will hatch our next premiership! He is akin to what Ron Joseph did for North Melbourne in 70's.

Then why were all the self righteous wankers on here having a go at him because he had an affair?
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

People post for many different reasons, but I reckon one of the main reasons is that it’s a time fillermagnifisaint wrote: ↑Sat 31 Oct 2020 12:10am Then why were all the self righteous wankers on here having a go at him because he had an affair?
Especially when it’s a topic that isn’t footy related. No point going over the moral arguments...they’ve already been done to death

Isn't it just a vehicle for people to shift their own moral failings on to someone else? Thank god Finnis wasn't using Trout’s ”good family” criteria for selecting recruits when he employed SL.

Re: Lethlean on SEN
Here's a test for our man. The case of the Crouch. We do not engage in any deal manipulation to get Adelaide the compensation it hopes for; just make a fair above board offer. Adelaide don't really want Crough and he doesn't want them, we can use him but are not desperate. He has recent form. Adelaide deal or not and if too difficult in negotiations we are prepared to move on. The speculation that the two clubs might collude to give Adelaide a prize at the expense of the competition overall is corrosive and I hope we don't engage in artifice. Like to see Crouch and Luke D go head to head, I wonder whether there would be a big difference in effectiveness, ignoring style.

While one has fought a manly battle since draft selection, the other has battled injury, which compared to his best form, has been Dunstan-like.Yorkeys wrote: ↑Sat 31 Oct 2020 8:57am Here's a test for our man. But on exposed form, when fit, Crouch is in another league.
It's the same bet on each player with much higher payouts and team benefits if Crouch gets to us and plays without injury.
Keeping all of Jones, Hanners and Crouch fit, and balancing their workload, will be the key but appears manageable, when you can add Gresham, Steele and Ross into the rotations and you also have Sinclair, Billings and Clark as back up and Bytel and Byrnes developing.
Throw in Higgins and we have huge midfield depth within the best 25 and massive flexibility when you add Membrey, Battle and the rapidly developing Coffield to the mix. This is all rounded off by the most potent ruck duo in the comp.
