Re: The Caldwell conundrum
I dont think Crouch, or Cameron change anything.
The GWS midfield remains unchanged. I dont think it is a massive money decision. More of a career move.
Lets face it, he will get games if he comes to St.Kilda.
Plus, he gets to live back in Vic.
Plus he gets to wear the guernsey.

Meh. Rebuild isn't complete without Ben King.SaintPelican66 wrote: ↑Wed 21 Oct 2020 10:28pmGood stuff. Now that we have Crouch and Caldwell our rebuild is complete. Top 4 here we come!!!saintsRrising wrote: ↑Wed 21 Oct 2020 10:07pm From an Essendon Support on BF

Won’t get into specifics, but good mates with a family member of his.
Told GWS yesterday that he wanted to “explore his options” (not necessarily ‘wanted to leave’).
But has today made a decision to join Saints and has informed them as such.
Not sure how long it will take to announce, but apparently wants to tell gws, Essendon (who we offering the most $$) and a few gws teammates first.
Re: The Caldwell conundrum
Don't like the sound of Watson comment. Saying we are out of the race. Hopefully he is not pumping up Essendon tires...

Re: The Caldwell conundrum
Or they have convinced him he will get more midfield time than at the Saints, with Crouch coming in. Might even be another team - Hawks?
Anyway here's hoping its still Saints.

Re: The Caldwell conundrum
It would seem that Tim Watson is getting his information from the 7 news site
https://7news.com.au/sport/afl/young-mi ... -c-1433961
I doubt he has an further inside knowledge.
And perhaps Tom Browne has no significant insight either. In the article it states, 'Crouch’s decision has not formally ruled the Saints out of the running for Caldwell ...'
Looks an each way bet from Tom Browne. Let's just wait on some genuine clarity rather than someone writing an opinion piece.

Well, Crouch who was said to not like big city life was bound for Geelong wasn't he?DownAtTheJunction wrote: ↑Thu 22 Oct 2020 12:18pm It would seem that Tim Watson is getting his information from the 7 news site

Re: The Caldwell conundrum
Brian Speaking reckons that Caldwell is going to Essendon but subsequent posts indicate he is sitting on the fence and that Gubby is still trying and doesn't give up easily.
We have Bytel who we need to get serious game time into. I think they are similar types too so I am not too fussed about this.

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: The Caldwell conundrum
Disappointing in some respects but he's only played 11 games or thereabouts so I don't blame us if we didn't offer a massive contract.
I can't believe that he chose Essendon either. They are going to be terrible for a few years yet.

The Saints must have known, hence why they went after Crouch

Re: The Caldwell conundrum
This seems about right IMO. We already have a very similar player in Bytel who, let's not forget, was a hugely rated and talented junior before his injury.SaintPav wrote: ↑Thu 22 Oct 2020 1:41pm Brian Speaking reckons that Caldwell is going to Essendon but subsequent posts indicate he is sitting on the fence and that Gubby is still trying and doesn't give up easily.
