And as I said, you’re delusional if you think that Hanneberry and Carlisle are the only players that indulge. Jack Steven was very popular at the club. Most guys socialised with him. Open your eyes. All clubs indulge in it sadly. Coke is the new beer in this generation
Your posts arre offensive. You can disagree with what i post but cut the personarl insults ffs.

Yeah... And people also know for certain that coz they've done it 3yrs ago that they still do it now... Carlisle onto his 3rd child is out doing it every weekend is he?

Alot of assumptions and guessing going on..
Yep and some posters just want to drag people, read players, down to their level.

They are saying that Jye is leaving and will go to the Saints.
Can't validate the accuracy and how close they'd be to the male players or info, but that's what I was told.
On BF they are suggesting it will be announced tomorrow and there are yet other sticks burning in the fire. With Caldwell developing alongside Bytel & Byrnes the future St Kilda midfield is looking very bright.

We will still need another ruckman from some where but I get the impression Gags has got that covered also.

Plus we all get the impression there is/was something going on with Carlisle at seasons end?
Not anymore, I don't think with Carlisle.

Ratts is on the record saying the Saints would put something in front of Carlisle, contract wise.

Pretty sure we are keeping him.

Skeptical at best
I think you are being a little harsh in judgment.

Crouch is an AA extractor. An inside midfield bull who goes after the pill like a terrier with no regard for his own welfare.

It is exactly what we need and why we chased him so hard. But injury prone.

Some here say his disposal is not always as it should be but we have some great and fast outside options who more than make up for what crouch might lack.

All he has to do is get it and he is really, really good at getting it like about 30 times a game.

So it’s a yes from me.
If he is all that you say he is I will soon soften up
Will need to win me over
Totally understand your scepticism and it's good to be open minded.

But Paddy Ryder had a similar bad press, before he joined the Saints, and he's been outstanding for us this year.

And like Paddy, Crouch has a similar pedigree. Both were All Australian.

Crouch was Adelaide's Best and Fairest winner in 2019. Missed a lot of games in 2020, through injury, but still put in some mighty efforts for the Crows.

He is injury prone because he is so hard at the contest. A blessing and a curse.

But as you say, the proof of the pudding etc etc.

He's been recruited to do a specific job to address a known weakness in our game.

He's a big bodied, big possession winner, tough nut inside mid. I just see a lot of upside and not much, if any, down.

Some on here highlighted the end of year incident involving Crouch, where he's alleged to have abused alcohol and used cocaine, and breached quarantine which got him suspended for two matches.

I seem to recall Jake Carlisle was involved in a similar incident, but he managed to put all of that behind him.

Crouch publicly apologised to Adelaide supporters, So I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt and say it was a one off and won't be repeated.

If we manage to jag Jye, in addition to Crouch, then it's another recruiting coup for the club, in my view.

Coming around to the idea that teams don’t expect 22 games from used stars now. I will expect 22 games out of Crouch and Hanners combined...and hopefully be pleasantly surprised.

Crouch stats for 2019: Averages: 32.6 disposals, 4 marks, 3.4 tackles, 3.2 inside 50s, 4.9 clearances per game. Included a 43 disposal game against Richmond.

Crouch stats for 2020 ( 12 games). Averages: 22 disposals, 1.7 marks, 3.8 tackles, 3 inside 50s, 5 clearances per game. At a deeply troubled club that had a poor season.

Aged 26 years and six months. Plenty of good footy left in him. Maybe he can help us win a premiership. I hope so.

Don't forget Paddy Ryder came to us after a really poor season, by his standards, with Port.

He returned from injury in round 15 and the crow went 3/4 with Crouch performing like this:

Round 15 Hawthorn Win: 27 disposals 5 score involvements, 8 clearances, 4 tackles, 4 inside 50s and 1 rebound 50

Round 16 Giants Win: 31 disposals, 2 score involvements, 2 tackles, 4 clearances and 2 inside 50s

Round 17 Carlton win: 18 disposals, 1 goal, 7 score involvements, 4 tackles 3 clearances 2 inside 50 and 1 rebound 50

Round 18 Richmond loss: 26 disposals, 4 score involvements , 4 tackles, 8 clearances, 5 inside 50s and 4 rebound 50s

We get him for zero pick cost and still land Caldwell.....it’s massive!
May even convince me to keep Billings.......of course if Taranto was getting bored......

The perception of recreational drug use is that anyone who uses a drug has an addiction or a problem. Thats complete bulls***. The absolute overwhelming majority of people who use drugs wake up the next day and get on with their lives. Addiction occurs when someone has something they hate in their lifes which they either want to replace of avoid which is where the dependency comes from. Someone seemingly in the prime of their lives who uses some coke is not at risk of anything other than a sore head. The whole chemical hooks argument of "one go and youll be hooked" has been disproven 100 times over. I have zero concerns if these guys have a bump of coke in the offseason. Its literally no different to having a beer. Until they are drinking or using drugs to cope with some problem, then we have nothing to worry about.

OK I will broach the bleeding obvious
we take on two on-ball players that are injury prone and like a beer ALTHOUGH Lets get real here it wasnt just a beer that got him into trouble - is this just another case of dejaFU again with a new signature
So we discard some of our more robust but less skilled players in the wash up - then both DH & BC go out at some point in 2021 - heaven forbid together
Some are saying we will entertain offers for Lonie - if so I feel that Gresham will play as the second small forward along with Butler. And finger out time for Billings to be accountable as a forward flank - link play and kick goals.
That leaves one forward spot for a resting/rotating mid or ruck.
How does that sound?
Crouch's party persona has been well known since early on in his career ...... at least there have been rumors - he has also had a few injury issues but hey we roll the dice and back in our fitness/medical team to get him right - cause when he is right he is very good player

Some are saying that if we bring in mids then other existing experienced mids must go out however given the midfield was one area we desperately needed depth then why would we discard others to only become thin again in the midfield? Unless of course they think Bytel & Byrnes are ready

Lonie, Kent, Sinclair would be 3 players on the selection fringe if we have to entertain positions for Crouch & Caldwell which is not a bad thing - either is Gresh coming back in to play forward and pinch hit in the middle

Billings to play more forward is definitely preferable and only need now another back-up ruck who can play forward and another KPB to replace Brown or hopefully Clavarino comes on.

I think we should definitely go after 2 meter Pete. We will be back up ruck in 2021 and then take over from Ryder in 2022.

I know posters won't like me saying it, not that I give a rats, but it is not booze that is his problem.

I stick by what I posted.
Wtf you on about?? If you find that offensive you have a thinner skin than I ever imagined. Being labelled delusional is now a personal insult?

I long ago gave up on our players being choir boys after various things I've heard from some very reliable sources. I know it makes it easier to support the team if their values/morals align with that of your own, but I don't reckon it's realistic that's all. For the record I detest drugs myself and what they do to people and particularly the people who manufacture/produce them. But it's rife across the league and as a previous poster has mentioned. Using drugs does not make one a druggie, not in my opinion. If it did then the league is choc a block full of functional drug addicts and I don't think that's the case. Crouch was merely indulging the excesses that most of them do at the end of the year.
