Crouch
Some are reporting now that we are leading the race for Crouch.
If this is true and we get as a free agent, and a reasonable contract with protection from injury in there that it doesn't blow out, then yes.
Not best user but does know how to find the ball. Probably see the end of Dunstan if happened.
Still then have 1st round pick if needed for Caldwell ?

Re: Crouch
In light of Cameron leaving, can't see Caldwell coming.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Crouch
I would be very happy to get Crouch. He will come for the money.
With Caldwell it very much depends on how much he wants to come back to Melbourne.

Would be happy with this. It's basically a upgrade on Dunstan.

Re: Crouch
Crouch as an FA under Ratten is almost the perfect formula for us.
I really don't know why we aren't the clear leader in this race.
Strong experienced and in his prime, get him out of Adelaide and fresh start and he can get the 25 times a game to the likes of Gresh, Billings, Hill and Jones.
If we get Caldwell too...we are a force for the next 5 years

That's only because no one else wants crouch, a druggie who is a worse kick than Dunstan.older saint wrote: ↑Wed 21 Oct 2020 8:59am Some are reporting now that we are leading the race for Crouch.

Re: Crouch
The opinions on here are mixed about Crouch. Whatever the opinion, we won't have to cough up any players or draft picks to get him if Adelaide won't match our offer. If they force our hand, then I don't think it's worth our while to pursue it. We need picks to target other players. He was keen to get to us at the end of 2018.

Re: Crouch
Adelaide would have been a pretty miserable environment for the last 2 years. Get him to the buoyant Moorabin under Ratten and see what Brad Crouch can do.
He is an All Australian, extraction unit....we should be rapt.

Re: Crouch
I’m not sure if on balance he was the player we needed...
Pbly suggests we won’t get Caldwell?
Who does he push out? Feel like he’s alongside Steele, Ross, and Hannerbery.
This looks to me like it stamps Dunstan’s papers.

Re: Crouch
Yeah the key question here is does he make us better?
Yes. Yes he does. I also think he will end up being a Ratten special.
Some questions regarding his kicking. Remember he is a heavy inside mid and most of his kicks are pressured.
And we have the answer to that, and it is Max King. He wont be beaten in the air in 2021....at all.
Not concerned with his fitness either. Don't let facts get in the way.
Had groin surgery in 2018 and missed the season. 2019 he played 22 games and won their B&F.
2020 he played 12/17 after pinging a hamstring while being pushed kicking.
He is an inside bull that can get 30 touches. He makes our midfield much, much better.

We should legitimately be contending. This guy could just explode in our environment after the last three years in that s*** hole.

Re: Crouch
He takes drugs like the majority of AFL players except they don't get caught! That's the only difference.saynta wrote: ↑Wed 21 Oct 2020 10:40amThat's only because no one else wants crouch, a druggie who is a worse kick than Dunstan.older saint wrote: ↑Wed 21 Oct 2020 8:59am Some are reporting now that we are leading the race for Crouch.

Yep, there'd be plenty of 'druggies' at every club, some are just much better at keeping it out of the public eye!magnifisaint wrote: ↑Wed 21 Oct 2020 11:36amHe takes drugs like the majority of AFL players except they don't get caught! Re: Crouch
Just watched the highlight reel and none of his midfield work really excited me. Particularly if we pay him $600k-$700k it sounds like overs.
However, I did like his ability to kick it through the big sticks. So he'll probably spend a lot of time rotating through the forward line. This will probably spell the end of Lonie. Which I don't mind.

If we get anywhere near that, or near DH/Hill money, we'll be getting ripped off once again.

Re: Crouch
Would arguably be our best midfielder and definitely top 3 next year.
Massive win for us.
Paton Howard Wilkie
Coffield Carlisle Long
Hill Steele Jones
Gresham Battle Billings
Butler King Membrey
Marshall Crouch Clark
Hannebery Ryder Dunstan Sinclair
Midfield rotations
Crouch, Steele, Jones, Hill, Gresham, Clark, Hannerbury, Billings, dunstan and Sinclair.
Add a forward and one more mid and we're in great shape.

Re: Crouch
Yeh but wasn't Jack Steven our best midfielder as well. Could get the ball and then butcher it. I thought we had moved past that era...nostalgicsaint wrote: ↑Wed 21 Oct 2020 11:50am Would arguably be our best midfielder and definitely top 3 next year.
