Geary did.

Martin then supported Crotchin. It didn't appear that anyone then supported Geary.

Players risk fines starting a melee.

The umpires are hopeless. There are 6 sets of eyes out there and they didn't pick any of this up?

The AFL make me sick.

It should have been the whole 18 + the bench, smug little banker.
Shows how on the back foot we were though !

Should have been a 50m and a certain goal.

Just watched replay.

We were genuinely screwed by the umpires especially in the first half.

5 decisions (or non decisions) in the first quarter and 6 in the second.

4 in the third quarter including the video goal review.

We were absolutely in that game and if we'd kicked accurately we would have been within a goal in the last quarter.

Totally galling .

Hopefully Cotchin will get stretchered off next week.

We had the free. No need to give the umps a excuse to reverse it

there was an absolute need to do it. Set the tone for the whole night. Free was on the 50m and we missed it anyway. Flattening Cotchin after such a dog act would not have hurt us anywhere near as much as NOT doing it did.

NEVER let Richmond manhandle us like that again Saints ....never ...its unacceptable. We need to play closer to the edge - they do and they get away with it almost every time ...

Geary had a crack.

Should have been 50 metres. Same as when Kent got slammed from behind when Marsh was lining up for goal.

2 missed 50's in the 2nd quarter. Useless umps.

Ridiculous post. Playing close to the edge probably cost Richmond a final the week before. We would have been furious if half a dozen blokes piled in on Cotchin and umpires reversed the decision. We would have been labeled as undisciplined, which we would have been.

We were at the mercy of the umpires. If they’d enforced the rules we wouldn’t even be discussing this

I saw Martin step in wanting to start a real fight.
You have to expect that from the son of a criminal thug.

Our guys had a set shot on goal and showed discipline in not giving the AFL's umpiring cheats an excuse to give a free to Cotchin.

Cotchin’s , “Who me?” Facial expression should be etched into a wall at Moorabbin over summer. His time will come.

No point blaming the Umps gents.
Its Cotchin's 'MO' and most great sides are 'unsociable' - we should've been ready for it.
A decent fight would've shown we were there with intent to win.
Instead we were jumped and allowed ourselves to be intimidated.
If we want to play with the 'big boys' we've got to think & execute like the big boys.

we are soft as a team. Cotchin should heve been set upon by many ..not 1.

Not many go for the hard ball as well.

I would've liked to have seen more than just Geary go over to Cotchin, even if it was just to tell him he's a wanker...

But i also would've like a few 'harder' tackles on him too, or a player bump him every time he ran past, that ki d of think doesnt need to result in free kicks/suspension but it lets him know you're there at least..

Can you really blame us - memories of Marc Murphy are still too close to the surface.

Just a pity can't deport Dusty like we did with his arsehole bikie dad.

Might see if Dutton can work on it though. 🤫

I agree with Barry - I was ropable we let Martin push Geary around - we needed to fly the flag and show the dirty tigers we won’t be bullied - massive psychological gain potential. We did nothing. And it showed in the way we played at that point.
Even if it was the biggest guy in the AFL - Big Charlie or Mason Cox players should stick up for players being rag dolled illegally.

Agree with the Fireman - we have been soft with tackles these two finals and landed few - and it is obvious to our potential opposition. Need to toughen up for sure. I detest Hardwick but he is correct about the "play on the edge thing".

Who cares? Both should have been put on their asses if only to prove a point to the jumper.

Getting a hard edge will be the next step in development.
We are not a soft team, but certainly not a hard one....yet.
There is sti a place for an enforcer type (Mitch Robinson sort) who can still play footy but loves a scrap.

All that would happen is the free kick for goal we had would get taken away. At least wait til after the kick to then get stuck into him!

It also didnt help but the 3 players who would've 'flown the flag' or wouldn't back down (Long, Ryder and Carlisle) all didnt play...
