I can't believe how sh!t the cameras are in this billion dollar industry. I nearly coughed up my lunch when I heard how much the AFL thought it would cost to upgrade the goal line cameras... I don't know how good they are at math, but they seemed to add a few too many zeros. It's a piece of piss and so cheap these days.

Unfortunately, as my son pointed out, the blur of the bottom of the football is actually part of the football that you need to draw a line back past the fist, and there is a distinct possibility that the tiniest piece of the knuckle touched the ball.

I would argue for a differing rule interpretation - something like - the ball, to be called touched, must change direction from the impact, ie the kick is a kick until it is forcefully impacted by another action, eg a spoil, so a goal can be touched, but cannot be called touched (rushed) unless the opposition exert a force on it significantly different enough to create a different trajectory on the ball.
