not a fan. lazy, moody, and wasting his talent.
but...coming back from his layoff he's looked like he cares. was very important last saturday. if we can get his head right and contribute consistently he's too good to let go.
Agree with all this. Problem is he’s 29. When’s the penny going to drop?
I would love for him to stay but being dropped was a signal that all is not well. He's on big coin, so a 1-2 year deal would probably be 30-40% less than what he is on now.
Where's Roberton at? Maybe Jake to GWS for Taranto?
Mixed feelings.
Lean toward keep and reserves time. A back up and performance clause....but that is the type of stuff he’d run from. Fair enough.
Dougal Howard.
We live him.
We love his attitude.
And
The only reason we have him is because he refused to play forward at the Adelaide magpies. He sulked and copped an attitude, so they said, stuff you....off you go.
When Bruce turned Jake and ran away and kicked the first goal for them I thought “this is not good”
From that moment on though he was fantastic
Early this season he was great too, I think he was under pressure in the hub and deciding about staying or going and that impacted his form , also that Rampe incident did not help
He is obviously not your normal cat but for mine absolutely required next year
I think he makes our players walk taller and at his best is as good as any tall defender in the comp.
They don’t grow on trees and as someone else said if we trade him we don’t get the true value of what he is worth to us

For those who say his lazy have you seen the rig on this guy. You don't look like that from laziness or having a poor attitude
I think he suffers from the Raph Clark syndrome of because his action is a bit laconic and he doesn’t show a ton of emotion ppl mistake him as being indifferent
And that equates to a perception of lazy
Personally I don’t think he’s a bit lazy...
He occasionally gets beaten in a contest in the air but when your job is to play on the best marking forwards... that’s going to happen from time to time
Some of his efforts at ground level contests have been incredible as of late... and the reality is that our backline is SOOOO much better with him there
Howard and Wilkes in particular play with a bit more daring
I reckon he’s great and seriously underrated at our club
Is a must keep for me, structurally we look a lot better with him in the side as it allows Coffield and Wilkie to play on more suitable opponents physically. I think Jake is still feeling the effects of the back injury he had in 2019 and might have been struggling to reach peak fitness hence his fall off in form around the Geelong game and subsequent absence from the side.
If he is keen to play in 2021 and his body and attitude is right then a must keep for me.
i doubt Jake will be going anywhere and I'm sure he is regarded as a "required player".
St Kilda don't have anyone near as tall, experienced and talented to replace him at CHB.
Perceptions that he is lazy or laconic are quite misfounded and based on watching him from the stands or on TV, we have no idea, nor is the suggestion that he was dropped recently for those sorts of reasons founded on real information.
St Kilda's back 6 have been magnificent this year and will remain intact in 2021 and be a fundamental element in the club's next premiership.
"Any candidate for political office, once chosen for leadership, must have the will to take the wheel of a very powerful car, tasked from time to time to make a fast journey down a narrow, precipitous mountain road – and be highly skilled at driving. Otherwise, he is disqualified from the company of competent leaders."
John Carroll, Professor Emeritus of Sociology at La Trobe University.
If we shut off our hearts and just listen to the dry and dour accountant in oour heads..we could ask, “which option leads us to winning more games over the next three years?”
a) basically sack him with a smile and handshake
B) offer him a miserly clause based contract
C) shower him with riches and a nice contract for three years
What would it be?
Remember, each of these solutions will also have an effect on the rest of the playing and coaching group, the culture as a whole.
I can see Jake at North next year.
Btw I love Jakes playing, but off field ...I dunno what to think...he ain’t no Geary.

And saying that he is disliked around the club is just pure made up bull s***.
