Brad Hill Workrate
We will see plenty of this at Marvel the next 5 years. Saints fans will appreciate this gut running more when watched live at the ground. It takes just as much courage to gut run like this all game than to put your head over the ball all the time.
Hill will burn the opposition in longer games from next year.
Want to watch the most boring and devious thing on television and probably in mankind's history, then tune into a daily live press conference at 11am.

Pity his team mates don't pass the ball off to him more often.johnearljames wrote: ↑Tue 06 Oct 2020 1:33pm

Re: Brad Hill Workrate
Probably should a bit more and it will get better but Hill would be happy winning and contributing. That gut running, high skill level and expierence is so valuable.saynta wrote: ↑Tue 06 Oct 2020 1:35pmPity his team mates don't pass the ball off to him more often.johnearljames wrote: ↑Tue 06 Oct 2020 1:33pm

Re: Brad Hill Workrate
Even on TV you can always tell he works hard because if he’s not got the ball you see regularly at or running too one contest or another.
He’s a very high player even in his down games
If you’re working hard around the ground, the camera will usually show it even if you don’t get the ball... maybe not to the exact extent but you either get to contests or you don’t

Think they are starting to, he only needs 0.5 of a metre on his opponent, put the ball in front of him and he will do the rest!saynta wrote: ↑Tue 06 Oct 2020 1:35pmPity his team mates don't pass the ball off to him more often.johnearljames wrote: ↑Tue 06 Oct 2020 1:33pm

Re: Brad Hill Workrate
Where was his opponent in that play? I'd hate to have to try to keep up with him. Would give Harv's a run for his money.
Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.

Re: Brad Hill Workrate
Hill has the fastest run of any AFL player this year - round 4 v Richmond. Speed = 36.6 km/h.
Now I know I am getting scientific - but I ride a bike and he runs faster than that - so I looked it up. That is exactly 10 m/s.
In other words - running flat out - he runs a straight 10sec 100m - while BOUNCING THE BALL.
Try to catch him! NOPE!!
My mate reckons he could run pro - but footy pays better!
Harves might have run further in every game - but not faster because that is insanely fast on the footy field (in fact all the clubs have players running sub 11 sec 100m but of course they are not going from a standing start).
That is why we payed him the big bucks - I bet Ratts knew that from his Hawks days.

This is a team game and there is no room for individuals who think they are above walking through the fire.

Re: Brad Hill & Jack Lonie Workrate
LONIE TOO
Note when the clip starts Hill is close to No 13 Jack Lonie who marks and takes the kick.
Later when Hill kicks the ball off the ground Lonie is yet to catch up but then Ross hand passes it goes to Lonie who kicks to Ryder.
Both these guys suffer hate attacks on here but the coach loves them.
He loves their run.
They were both helping out deep in defence then run long and hard to follow the ball and create the forward opportunity.

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Usain Bolt 100m world record 9.58 sec hit 44.72 kph between 60 and 80m marks.mbogo wrote: ↑Tue 06 Oct 2020 9:11pm Hill has the fastest run of any AFL player this year - round 4 v Richmond. Speed = 36.6 km/h.

A top speed of 36.6kph would be like an 11.7sec 100 metre run.
In footy boots, bouncing the ball, on grass not on a running track, and still faster than any non drug assisted woman.

Re: Brad Hill Workrate
Lonie does a lot of up and down work. Same as Kent. Hard to watch on the TV though. Its why they get games. Part of the Saints system.
