Love Child
I thought the umpiring was OK Saturday night with the absolute exception everytime this guy went near the ball in the forward 50.
What the FCUK was that all about? I can't ever recall one player getting such a good run of soft frees inside 50.
Were they making up for his 2016 injury verses the Saints.
Trivia question: Who was the Saint that tackled Wallis in 2016 when he broke his leg?

Re: Love Child
I can't stand the fact that this cretin gets a game because of his skill for fooling the umpires. Just f****** pathetic.
If the Doggies actually had any decent forwards, they would have smashed us, but Wallis is over rated. I'd trade him to get a proper forward and send Bruce back to CHB.

I agree. He did well but we may need to be smarter with our tackling.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Mon 05 Oct 2020 2:04pmYep!

I thought number 22 was pretty quick with his whistle. A bit too quick.
Just before the free to Daniel, Bruce launches for a speccie and puts his hand on Howard's shoulders but fails to take the mark. The same umpire then pays the softest in the back to Keath against Max a bit later with less than ten seconds to go.
Bruce played really well, for us.

umpiring was horrendous.
#22 can go and get f***ed.

Re: Love Child
Wallis has perfected the art of grabbing the defenders arm while in the punching the ball motion and pulling it over his shoulder to look like it is around the neck.
You would think the umpires are a wake up to it but ....... then you have Duckwood still getting free kicks so obviously the answer is no and most probably never will.

Re: Love Child
Eight frees awarded inside 50 to the Doggies from which they scored 4 goals 3 points of their 9g 10pts.
One inside 50 awarded to the Saints from which play-on advantage paid anyway.

Re: Love Child
Well my assessment must be incorrect if the 400 game legend of the sport who "knows footy" and has "played the game" disagrees with me.CURLY wrote: ↑Mon 05 Oct 2020 6:47pmJoffa Burns wrote: ↑Mon 05 Oct 2020 2:01pm

Re: Love Child
There's stretching the rules and then there's cheating. Why I hate J Sellwood. Why Wallis is now on the list. Just below Shuey. The Daniels free also shat me. The taking possession then running into a tackle shoulder down should be pinged holding not rewarded.

Re: Love Child
I hate the staging too. But it's an interesting thing. If you listen to the commentators, they're always admiring of players who disguise how they're deliberately getting the ball out of bounds or hide how they're trapping a player's arms or whatever from the umpire. And we all understand the benefit of the 'professional' foul. Why is staging any worse? I mean - I think it is too, from the gut! - but don't know why.
