Re: Carlisle next season?
I think Carlisle is way better than Austin and/or Clavarino so keep him.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Required player, has performed well.
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Agree. It is telling that when he was out, neither of those other guys was trusted to come in.

Re: Carlisle next season?
All depend on who is tradeable to get the players we need. If Jake is part of a deal that lands us a gun mid or Ben King then I would consider it but if not would be happy to keep him.

Re: Carlisle next season?
Reckon he'll get another 2 year deal at least, because other clubs will offer him that if not more.
200 cm experienced defenders don't grow on trees, would be crazy to trade him out with the team achieving even greater success in 2021 and beyond.

Re: Carlisle next season?
I agree with your 2nd paragraph however I'm not convinced he or the Club need each other if a Win Win can be manufactured. He will certainly attract some good offers which may produce some trade currency we desperately need.
It's hard to judge from looking in.

Re: Carlisle next season?
To think we can cover him now and he offers little is extremely arrogant.

Yes to want
No I don’t think he’ll be on the list

Read the question. It’s very clear

Re: Carlisle next season?
Saturday showed the value of having two 200cm defenders. Makes it very hard for the opposition to Matt anything that comes in high.
Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.

Re: Carlisle next season?
When he is on he is up there with any CHB in the league....when he isn't he drags the whole team down.
Ratts needs a long heart to heart with him and see what is actually going to get him to play to his potential.
Happy to sign him for a year based on last couple of weeks.

Agree, it would be madness and a little cocky to let him go. The backline will struggle without him.

Re: Carlisle next season?
The scuttlebutt has been going round all year that he’s not going to get another offer and that he’s not liked internally...
I said it at the time as well...
His odd dumping from the senior team for a few weeks was very peculiar, coincided with our worst patch of form of the year and was a bad look for the club considering he was clearly an important cog in the high performing back 6.
IMO it cost us games
Personally I really rate him... he’s tough, reliable, experienced and has a bit of mongrel about him.
My impression is that there are some internal issues or concerns there l

Re: Carlisle next season?
Things go better with Coke.
The problem is the big C decides when and how he likes to play. It can’t be good for coaches and team planners. He was one of our best players under Richo. Ratters might not be too fond. Understandably.
I don’t know Jack of course.

Re: Carlisle next season?
Jake has the talent and the attributes as you say, but his attitude and his work ethic seem to be questioned. I’m sure that Ratts is going to get the best out of him and manage the personality and the person better than any other coach out there.
Offer him a 1 year deal but stick a few incentives in there. Hopefully Jakey is part of a premiership Saints list next year and hopefully he’s offered another contract at the end of 2021.
If Jake is hungry for another taste of finals victory and if Ratts wants him, I don’t think he’ll go anywhere. I have a feeling that we’ll keep him at the Sainters and he’ll be a big part of our 2021 campaign
Re: Carlisle next season?
I would question if his decision to leave the hub was made due to fact he doesn’t have a contract offer in front of him for next year.
Would he have stayed if he had an offer.
I like him but don’t think he will be there next year.
