Will surely appeal .
Medium impact player got up and played out rest of the game.
Not sure if he even went off the ground after the bump.
Boom Boom
He ended up with 20 possessions, 5 marks & 3 tackles
Within 30 mins of the incident there was a picture in main stream media freeze framed to within a millisecond of Long & Macrae coming together and the headlines scream blue murder - "Maniac - Saints star's ugly move"
Former Port Adelaide star Dwayne Russell told AFL Nation: “It’s worse the more you see it.”
As worse as him getting up immediately and playing out the game - yeah right seriously get fkd Derrrrrwayne

F------ predicted this just sheer bias againt us . If that was Martin or f----- Dangerfield they would be free to play. We will appeal but it won't change probably get 2 weeks Really pisses me off the hypocrisy of the AFL 1 rule for the stars & another rule for the regular players not f-----happy

was it high?
looked shoulder to shoulder to me
Oh FFS - clearly high - shoulder hit his face - don't kid yourself - can't argue that
Impact was no more than a head high tackle though
Reverse angle shows there is no contact to the head. If the point of his shoulder hit his chin he'd have whiplash and his head would have done a 360 not pull back in shock at the front on contact.
Sick of this AFL f****** BS. Cotchin and Greene got off suspensions for recent GF's and were much worse incidents. Absolute f****** BS.
Sick of how the umps and AFL treat lesser known players like s*** but they dare not touch a golden boy or a player at an expansion club on the field and at match review time.
Want to watch the most boring and devious thing on television and probably in mankind's history, then tune into a daily live press conference at 11am.
I’d argue that initial contact was Long’s shoulder on Macrae’s shoulder. Then it sort of glanced upwards off Macrae’s shoulder. Hit Macrae a glancing blow that momentarily shook him, but he played on untroubled. Minimal impact and wasn’t seen as worthy of even a free kick.
It’s worth a shot to go to the tribunal, but we shouldn’t let it become too much of a distraction.
The AFL is all about making games exciting... especially finals. Given that we’ve lost Ryder and possibly Carlisle... I reckon the AFL will go easy on us

I reckon there’s a chance he’ll get off.

Hopefully can argue it down to low impact. Would that get him off?
He served 3 wks, do those points stay on his record and add to this trumped-up one?
Like demerit points on a drivers licence?
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.
Remember one of the 10 Commandments : Thou shalt have no other team before thee
It's obvious by now that if players go for head high bumps, or anywhere near the head, with force, then then the MRO will probably rub you out if you have history. Long hasn't learnt the lesson yet, and the team suffers.
try to get to low impact as didn't come off and no concussion test.
WB cant do anything but support this position with medical reports etc or they will be in trouble for not following concussion protocol.
That said , clearly hasn't learnt from earlier in the year, GF yes but otherwise no, and then the undisciplined 50 which luckily missed . Cant afford either this week if he is lucky enough to get a downgrade.
IF name was Cotchin he would be fine.
He's reckless ... in the sense that he collided into one of our own players too, in a very similar way.
He also had a dummy spit moment which nearly cost us a goal and the game (as older saint mentons above) - with the 50 metres he gave away.

He is quite fiery, with I like, but it will inevitably come back to bite us every now and then.
