How good a FB and key back is this bloke.
Only young. He is super quick too. We have a quality FB for 10 years.

Re: Doogie Howard
Howard is 100% the best performing recruit of the 5. Pure gold.
Hill, has been the worst performing particularly due to the massive cost in picks and despite his excellent field presence and on field mentoring, he is a flop, in 2020...but with his skills he could rise up in 2021; I feel he sadly will go slowly further down.

Will need to have a huge game next week if Carlisle is out as expected.

Re: Doogie Howard
In a single off-season period, 2019 was pretty damned amazing.
But the Hammill, Gehrig, Penny, Lawrence, Powell, Black, Voss, Guerra period was all time. (Slightly ahead of Timmid's Charles, Delaney, Mitchell, Francis period)

And at one point ... was the quickest player on the ground too! Quite the package.

Re: Doogie Howard
Nah - Port did as well as we did out of that trade. They drafted Mitch Georgiades (who'll be a ripper and eventually replace Dixon) with the Howard pick and they already had Peter Ladhams (who's Marshall-esque). We got exactly what we needed and Port didn't stuff up the pick.
Once of those rare win/win trades.

Hmmmm. Playing on out of the square might just be propping up those stats a little maybe?

Re: Doogie Howard
He shouldn't be taking the kick ins, unless its the last minute of the game and we need a run and long bomb down the middle.
Paton, Wilkie or Coffield should be the designated kickers

Re: Doogie Howard
He kicks longer than those three and has better judgement. It's more a team plan thing - we don't seem to have plans B or C.

Re: Doogie Howard
Yep, going back to early 2000’s and before that the mid 60’s, IMHO. But, I doubt we’ve ever been so well situated off the field as we are now, and that includes the Huggins, Drake era!!
Go you good things....!!!

Re: Doogie Howard
Ian Drake was the recruiter, searched far and wide in Tassie for recruits. He used to stay at our place.Simon Templar wrote: ↑Mon 05 Oct 2020 7:03pmYep, going back to early 2000’s and before that the mid 60’s, IMHO.
