Just a glimpse - Max King
WOW, set the standard for key forwards in the game. Some towering, strong marks on the wing and in the square. Will be a behemoth of the game, let's hope we can bring on board his brother to join in the rampage.
Hard to believe anyone would call for him to be dropped. Sour grapes, lack of knowledge or lack of respect?
He's a beauty. Certainly more influential and valuable than the Doggies key forward signing. I like Bruce, I like his passion but this arvo's game was very Bruce. Thank God!

Re: Just a glimpse - Max King
He was incredible wasn’t he
Just needs to figure out how to stay involved in games against the run ala the last quarter but obviously that was a problem for quite a few
If it’s kicked to him one out... it feels almost always like he’s going to mark it

Took a lot of strong grabs. 2 good goals. A major reason we were 4 up at half time.
Want to watch the most boring and devious thing on television and probably in mankind's history, then tune into a daily live press conference at 11am.

Remember when some secret bloke said he couldn’t mark or kick and should be turned into a ruckman? lol
Pretty good first up finals game by a first year player if you ask me

I'm not sure that matters when his overall influence on the game was better than the combined efforts of Bruce & Naughton.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Does go missing in the second halves though

Best game for a number of weeks too. In a final. The boy might own Etihad Stadium one day.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sat 03 Oct 2020 8:31pm WOW, set the standard for key forwards in the game. Re: Just a glimpse - Max King
I know we have been saying this for eighteen weeks now.
But if ever there was a player, that was DUE to just break a game apart.
It is Max King.
Seriously he needs to break the Paddy 2's.

So happy with Kings performance tonight. A glimpse is right. He is going to be so much better next year with a bit more meat on his bones. Future is finally looking bright

His work below his knees is also unfairly good for a bloke 2m tall

Re: Just a glimpse - Max King
Max frustrated me to the end of the Earth - it is my fault - I judge him as a 200 gamer - because at times he plays that way - I expect him to mark everything and kick a bag all the time.
He will soon!
.....
And then we will have him for another 200 games!

Re: Just a glimpse - Max King
He got a free kick in the ruck and Lonnie took the goal. So he could/should’ve had 3

Re: Just a glimpse - Max King
The fact we just won was more to do with his first half. The fact we nearly lost was because our mids were ineffective in the last and failed to capitalise on Paddy's brilliant work.Wayne42 wrote: ↑Sat 03 Oct 2020 9:07pmWe only just won so it probably does matter.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sat 03 Oct 2020 9:05pmI'm not sure that matters when his overall influence on the game was better than the combined efforts of Bruce & Naughton.

Re: Just a glimpse - Max King
A lot of players went missing in the last, it wasn't just the midfielders fault.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sat 03 Oct 2020 10:09pmThe fact we just won was more to do with his first half. Re: Just a glimpse - Max King
It certainly wasn't King's. If the mids & half backs cannot get it in the forward line and the the half forwards lock it in, a key forward regardless of experience is impotent.Wayne42 wrote: ↑Sat 03 Oct 2020 10:12pmA lot of players went missing in the last, it wasn't just the midfielders fault.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sat 03 Oct 2020 10:09pmThe fact we just won was more to do with his first half. The thread title began with "Just a glimpse", are you not excited by what you witnessed tonight?
