He is a better forward. Plain and simple. The numbers are stacking up, thats where he needs to play.

Is he a good backman? Yes but his disposal is a problem. We have better options.

Is he good forward? Yes and his disposal isn't an issue and his efforts are better rewarded. He's very smart in his forward craft.

Yes, it seems that every time he has been played forward, he has been great and for some strange reason, accurate at kicking for goal (mostly). And as you mentioned, his leading is great (almost like a born forward?!) Surely there's a pattern there?

What rubbish was very good yesterday. His vision set up goals and his tackling saved us.

OK I'll take up the challenge.

The little rodent was Bulldogs and the games biggest disposal winner and it was Geary's job to shut him down in the first half.
Many of those disposals were in the first half.

But then almost half were handballs and short passes in a mop up roll in our forward 20 metres so not that damaging.
It would have been nice if our forwards were doing the mopping up.
The rodent could not play further up the field because Geary was too big a threat if left alone as our only deep forward.
Then in one on ones Geary destroyed the rodent, kicked goals and contributed to others.

Yeah the rodent had many disposals in the first half but Geary's few disposals were devastating.

Funny stuff. Who would have thunked it, Geary, our Captain stands up in a big game, a final no less.

I love how he isn't in our best 22. Just love it. I hope he continues to be outside our best 22.
