Re: Saints v Dogs Elimination Final Match Thread 2020
Great win soured by Paddy's injury and we overcame an incredibly biased display by the umpires.

I would like to know who the idiot was that decided to just waste time in the last quarter instead of continuing to paly the same way that got us the lead. f****** stupid. I am just glad that we didn't have to learn the hard way.

Yep we stopped doing what worked for 3 quarters, though the dogs did change up their gameplan.SaintPelican66 wrote: ↑Sat 03 Oct 2020 8:09pm I would like to know who the idiot was that decided to just waste time in the last quarter instead of continuing to paly the same way that got us the lead. f****** stupid. We’ll learn from it though, which is a massive positive.

We had all the momentum at three quarter time yet we squandered that by trying to just waste time instead of going for the kill. Typical stupid St Kilda. I'm just glad time ran out when we were still in front.

Umpires.
Seriously kept them in it.
Disgraceful.

Re: Saints v Dogs Elimination Final Match Thread 2020
Folks, please we just won a final. Amazing effort. This season is a massive tick.
We have superseded all expectations . Anything now is a bonus.
Ratts we salute you. You have us on the path.
We have an exceptional backline. Is there a better young backline in the comp? IMO. No.
King will dominate. DOMINATE. In the future.
We may have the best young list in the comp barr GC and only because of Rowell. If we get BKing, we win win multiple premierships. I sure of that. IMO..

Now go and put your Western Bulldogs membership in the microwave. 10 minutes on high should be enough to set fire to your house.

As usual when we play well an extremely balanced list of contributors. Everyone played their part.
This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf--
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

Re: Saints v Dogs Elimination Final Match Thread 2020
Great game - a couple of things:
- Dan H: yes he’s on a lot of coin, yes he gets injured, but watching him tonight showed he’s determined and he’s class
- Geary; I start to believe all the negativity, and then I see what he does to shut out opposition key players and also contribute and understand why he has so many in the club who back him
- Brad Hill was EVERYWHERE. Just ran and ran and ran
- Paddy was an absolute champ.. so sorry to hear he’s out
- in summary a great team effort that didn’t crack when the pressure was on
Go Saints!

Frees 15 to 8
But how many of them were pathetic soft ones on their FORWARD line with only MINUTES to play in a FINAL!!!!!!!!!!!
JUST OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Saints v Dogs Elimination Final Match Thread 2020
It doesn’t matter now. Right now the Dogs are feeling shattered, devastated , and we are feeling Victorious !! Tomorrow they will pick up their families and belongings and remove their sorry souls from their hub... and our boys will have a recovery swim at the lovely Noosa beach and then start planning for the Tigers.Enrico_Misso wrote: ↑Sat 03 Oct 2020 8:26pm Frees 15 to 8

Re: Saints v Dogs Elimination Final Match Thread 2020
Gutsy in the end but we do need to learn....don’t stop in the last take the game on we let them in
Some ordinary umpiring at the end I think I they got 4 from frees?
Ryder was instrumental just superb
Hannebery same
I’m not a Geary for next year fan at all but I have to admit today he was extremely good and gutsy
The season was already a big pass from me before today...now we’ve exceeded all expectations
Well done Brett Ratten you deserve it .
Oh and Max King ....cometh the hour....and he’s just starting ...,

100% agree. No expectations that we will go past next week and am super happy with our progress this year. We’ll be playing next week for a spot in a preliminary final. Just that we made the finals is a massive improvement. Winning one is cream.

Re: Saints v Dogs Elimination Final Match Thread 2020
How stressful is it being a saints supporter? We should have run the last quarter out easily but let the dogs back in. So happy with the win but better teams will punish us.
Long gone for a week most likely which is a shame and Paddy potentially injured but besides that It was a good win. King and Coffield showing some real class and the future looks very bright. this game was worth about 20 according to Ratts and he was right, so much experience learned tonight. Well doen guys and bring on the tigers. Steele to tag dusty out of t heir game and Butler to kick a bag

Re: Saints v Dogs Elimination Final Match Thread 2020
I actually think a close win is better for the team, if would have won by twenty points , it masks our ability to hang on
I think close wins install belief
