Throws some names up for some of the speculation above :

- Defenders - Webster /Long . Long tough and breaks lines but disposal and decision making ?? - would be ready made replacement for Saad.
- Carlisle - GWs would be interested as Davis cannot stay on the filed more than 3 games in a row and is getting on. Lost Shaw and without Davis lacks leadership down back
- Lonie - got to give to get. Probably bets season so far but Butler ahead of him comfortably. Have Gresham to come back also who cans wing between on ball and forward .
- Dunstan - Grunt player GWS needs rather than a midfield of Ferraris. Would help guys like Kelly from getting smashed week in week out.

Just throwing up some names which could bring in specific needs identified talent.

Got to give to get

I rated him highly, but what's with his crappy 59% disposal efficiency?
That surprised me.

Savage's disposal efficiency was 83% last year .... and he's not getting any games!

Agree ... to a point. I still maintain that TT’s getable - Matt Bain just said he’s not going anywhere THIS year.

What a shame he would be the perfect player to elevate us to a top 4 side. Hopefully there are plenty of irons in the fire and Gubby, Lethers & Gags are just warming up.

Problem here is the only ones warming up on Taranto was Footy Classified and one Saintsationlist.

But yes the Saints will have a hot list and based on last year some they will have already been well into, some they will have sounded out but been rebuffed by, others may have said yes, or may still be considering it (ie Cadwell) and then others (ie Butler last year) will probably only be approached once things develop after clubs finish their year and work out more fully who they will want to keep, or need to try and offload.

We know that Lethers and team are actively fishing. Let us hope for another good haul this year. One drawback this time around is that we do not have as many picks to trade with, and perhaps also we have a few less players with trade currency that we are ok to lose . Last year Bruce effectively gained us Jones. Acres was part of the Hill cost.

The year prior Hickey was used to get Hannas.

Carlisle will have some currency and if I’m correct he hasn’t got a contract for next year. Webster, Dunstan, perhaps Ross but me thinks not.

Surely none of the young guys getting regular games - Long, Paton, Coff, Clark, Battle are not on the table. They’re part of our core for the next years to come and their best footy is ahead of them.

I know a lot of you think I can;t see the woods for all the trees where Seb is concerned, but he won't be traded.

I know Ball was but you don't trade out Best and Fairest winners who are also club leaders unless they want to go. Seb is going nowhere.

Without weighing in on the topic, he’s presenting it as an opinion as opposed to a fact...
Given that it’s a subjective topic, hows he supposed to prove it?

There’s ppl here that are suggesting that this seasons form is largely due to Richo’s development and though that’s insane to me... they believe it

There’s another instance where a forumite wants to drop King as his 5-6 goals on the last few games isn’t enough but is blown away with Kent’s 1 goal in 6 games

On Long... I like him a lot. There’s an attacking mongrel about him that’s impressive but at the same time, our back 6 looks better with Clark on a flank instead of him...
It’s a very disciplined/structured back 6 whereas Long adds more of take the man on and live or die by the results type of attitude.

Don’t want to lose him by any means but he’s pbly the most dispensable of the backs...
But then if Clark transitions into a mid, that spot is his

He questioned Longs disposal yet he goes at 82%. That's not subjective it's a fact

Yep, just read where you wrote we were getting Taranto, another great scoop Teddy, well done! 8-)
Oh yeah, I forgot about Ted’s other alter alter alter ego, Scoop!
I take exception to that comment Dud. I'll have you know that I have been on here, with the one nic, far longer than Ted/John earl has been.
I am able to corroborate Scoop's testimony in this matter, because I'm the one who gave him the nickname, and I gave him that nickname (in the Social Club, after a game) years before Tim Berners-Lee (or, "TimBL"to his friends and associates) had even proposed the interwebs (in 1989).

One of the 'stickier' nicknames I've handed out, over the journey.

Been a tough year for Scoop, given thuh VIRUS!! Communication flows between him, and his 'men at the club', have been somewhat limited, for obvious reasons.

So you reckon Taranto would be swayed to come over after yesterday's performance?

Got to give to get
Throwing Longs name up....REALLY!
That's insane!
82% disposal eff
Don't rate his decision making under pressure, glad to be proved wrong .
Your making the claim so the burden is on you to provide the proof
Without weighing in on the topic, he’s presenting it as an opinion as opposed to a fact...
Given that it’s a subjective topic, hows he supposed to prove it?

Exactly!, So why is he asking to be proved wrong ?
He questioned Longs disposal yet he goes at 82%. That's not subjective it's a fact
Think someone needs to go to spec savers [ a subjective opinion }
Couldn't help but get personal but that's fine, what ever floats your boat.
I said decision making as well as disposal. Lets look at how they get efficient disposal stat- If the ball doesn't go to the opposition it is efficient. Carlisle last night at one stage had 100% efficiency yet 2 of his kicks landed short of their targets, so that stat however is still considered efficient.

How do I prove decision making , not sure. Like someone pointed out it is an opinion - and like a part of the anatomy we all have one , just some think theirs is better than others.
