Changes for the Elimination Final

This is the thing we need to get our head around, we fell into the finals with 10 wins and 7 losses in a much shorter season. If this was full strength competition we would be 2 or 3 games short of securing a finals berth

Now I'm no Stephen Hawking, but 10 wins from 17 matches is around a 59% winning ratio when extrapolated to 22 matches that % gives us 13 wins, the number of wins that gets you 6th or 7th place every year.

Vortex is right. There’s enough evidence to suggest that we were fortunate to have won so many games. Had the umpires not assisted us in a handful of games at crucial moments and had the opposition not had such bad timing with injuries we may not have even won all those 10. In fact when you look at the way Freo and North beat us after we were over 6 goals up against them, I’m surprised it didn’t happen more often. We were lucky we didn’t win the wooden spoon

Of course, those same factors apply to the team's below us too.
Looking at the last five games on form and opposition played, the Bulldogs are in good form. We test that next week. Collingwood and Melbourne are about a 50/50 chance with a poorer record across the year against quality opposition and it falls away steeply from there.
So either poor theory, bias or trolling are far more likely the motivation of the above statement, rather than insight or intellect. Go figure.

Disparaging? It's what nearly everyone in the Country calls it, that or the COVID Cup. Just because people don't align with how you want to view the world doesn't mean you should promote hatred towards them. Vortex/Secret Kiel is about as good at predicting the future as your neighbourhood astrologist.

His ‘miss’ list is, frankly, embarrassingly long.

Too many to mention, but who could forget him telling anyone who would listen for the first half of the season that he wasn’t watching any football at all because it was a ‘gap year’ (lol), then doing a 180 and claiming he watches a lot of footy and all our games multiple times and trying to come off as some kind of expert (double lol)

If that’s not trolling then I don’t know what is. Not sure why the mods keep letting him return over and over and over...

My latest favourite from him is claiming King has a ‘technical flaw’ with marking. That’s the same King who finished 12th in the league for contested marks in his first proper season... lol

It depends on whether he's leading and how the ball is kicked. If it's long bombs he has no choice. Ideally you want the footy in front of your eyes, but in a pack situation it's best to try and mark the footy at the highest point. That's gives the tallest bloke the advantage and that's probably the best long term strategy.

As long as he's doing the work and getting lots of protein shakes and tuna/salmon/red meat and chicken fillets he'll be fine. His 'flaw' is that most 20 year olds need another 4 years in the gym.

When his shoulders and forearms are similar to a 24 year old, the defenders can chop all they like because by then his hands will be vice like.

It's a thing for sure. When you watch him in slow motion on the replays his eyes lose contact with the ball which suggests he might be still getting used to the required technique when bracing for contact, i.e. hearing footsteps.

It's a thing for sure. When you watch him in slow motion on the replays his eyes lose contact with the ball which suggests he might be still getting used to the required technique when bracing for contact, i.e. hearing footsteps.

Imagine how good he'll be with a few more preseasons and games under his belt.

Like you I don't think that he proved not only to be a hypocrite that wouldn't stand up for a young indigenous woman, he was most likely the chief perpetrator of the cowardly abuse.

So it's not the Asterisk Cup? I thought that was the official name. What are they going to call it now? Covid Cup, Hub Cup? The AFL will need to make a decision soon. I think over time "Asterisk Cup" will be the name that sticks.
