Dogs at the Gabba

Post: # 1872484Post Faulky63 »

FWIW
The Dogs haven't won at the Gabba since 2017 and have not played at the venue once this season.

Interesting stat.
It's not the ground that's a factor- that's simply an oval shaped sporting ground covered in grass.

Which players did they have? Who were their opponents?

Might as well say an ice-hockey team hasn't won at a certain rink for 3 years.
It's an indoor ice-rink.

I disagree - grounds, particularly outdoor ones, can require a certain style of game play - and the swirls of the wind when kicking for goal can have a huge influence.

Umps have more influence than ground conditions

Good stat Faulky - obviously ground environs play a significant role in a teams psyche, we should take confidence from this fact and use it to our advantage rather than just blindly bag it out.

I’m surprised they haven’t played there given how few venues have been used. It’s like us playing a final at the G against Collingwood.

One stat there is wrong : it’s 16 years since our last win in a EF(2004 v Shitney) technically a first semi lol

Yeah that was a Semi Final.

We've only played 4 Elimination Finals in the AFL era.

2011 vs Sydney (loss)
2006 vs Melbourne (loss)
1992 vs Collingwood (win)
1991 vs Geelong (loss)
