The druggies after Paton
Foxfooty.com.au understands St Kilda stopper Ben Paton is being monitored by the Bombers – among other clubs – and is out of contract at the end of the season.
St Kilda remains confident it will lock him down, but to this point the club and his management have not reached an agreement on a new deal.

Hahaha
Absolute nonsense
A kid getting a game every week in an up and coming side defers to a club of cheats on an epically downward trajectory

I'm convinced that acts like this are just to apply cap pressure to teams, with the side effect of a chance to jag a good trade.

F---ing typical Bummers style so let do a Dorardo & demand unrealistic trades / draft picksThe Fireman wrote: ↑Thu 24 Sep 2020 8:44pm Foxfooty.com.au understands St Kilda stopper Ben Paton is being monitored by the Bombers – among other clubs – and is out of contract at the end of the season.

Re: The druggies after Paton
As a general rule we shouldn't trade with the bombers as we usually get screwed.

Re: The druggies after Paton
He won’t go anywhere but what would you want as a minimum in a hypothetical world.
I’d want 2 picks on the top 10. Historically I’m guessing 4 out of the top 10 don’t live up to the hype. I think we got so lucky with Coffield and Hunter who are 2 of the 4 best from that draft.

If only they could trade a 1st round pick ... but they can’t. We’ll take Merret & Ridley thenbangaulegend wrote: ↑Thu 24 Sep 2020 8:53pmF---ing typical Bummers style so let do a Dorardo & demand unrealistic trades / draft picksThe Fireman wrote: ↑Thu 24 Sep 2020 8:44pm Foxfooty.com.au understands St Kilda stopper Ben Paton is being monitored by the Bombers – among other clubs – and is out of contract at the end of the season.

Its an interesting draft 2017 with the top end lighter on talent but some real late steals.Goose is king wrote: ↑Thu 24 Sep 2020 9:45pm He won’t go anywhere but what would you want as a minimum in a hypothetical world.

If re-visited clear #1 Tim Kelly went at 24 though a mature player.
Worpel & Paton at 45 & 46 were both great picks for their respective clubs.
Jarrod Brander from that draft is a mid I'd love the Saints to grab from WCE.

Re: The druggies after Paton
No doubt mate the most improved player on our list but do we let the market do the talking or do we give him a deal that is fair & just ? IMO give him a decent deal & he will signThe Fireman wrote: ↑Thu 24 Sep 2020 9:01pm He has been fantastic he has negated some of the best the club needs to pull their finger out and sign him up

#6 Francis for Carslile & #18 Gresham wasn't a bad outcome for us.fugazi wrote: ↑Thu 24 Sep 2020 9:17pmAgree totally, they are the worstDJ Higgins wrote: ↑Thu 24 Sep 2020 9:13pm As a general rule we shouldn't trade with the bombers as we usually get screwed.
However could have looked very ordinary if we stuffed up #18 and Francis was a star.

Re: The druggies after Paton
By the end of next year Paton would be considered a 1st rounder trade.
Defenders that let through so few goals to their direct opponent do not stay under the radar for too long.
Never forget Lovett.
Never forget.

Maybe a leak from his manager to give Saints a little prod?

Re: The druggies after Paton
Why all the talk about trades? Has Ben come out said he is up for it while I was away doing maintenance on the International Space Station? Do you lot not recognise there are more people with AFL media accreditation than there are AFL players? They justify their living by fabricating crap?
Paton leaving StKilda for Essendon would be as sensible as Daniel Ricciardo leaving Red Bull for Renault, without the $40 million.

Can’t believe that,
If I was in contact negotiations I would spread that rumour too !

Re: The druggies after Paton
I’d say you’re right.
Manager trying to bump up Paton’s contract, which mean more $ for his manager too.
Most of the contract talk now is manager driven. They have no club interest it’s about the best deal for their client and themselves.

We should suggest to Adrian Dodildo that they recruit Harley Bennell and offer a generous character reference.

Re: The druggies after Paton
IF, and a big IF this is correct and not made up I would be listening to which pick in the first round is being offered. Anything less door closes. Can be replaced and we need to start planning for the extraction of brother King late 2022.
