Jack Steele
Have watched a bit of the Saints lately, cant think of a player who had improved as much as Jack Steele has within a 12 to 15 month period. And now when I say lately, I mean 40 years back.
2019 Brownlow votes = 1.
2020 = ?
It will be plenty more than 1. Even in games we have lost, he should poll. He is a standout even in games we have lost.
Just been super impressed with him. And feel he stands up against all the STK heroes of the past.
Not bad for a bloke in and out of the side not long ago.

The commentators mentioned that Rowan Marshall wasn't picked in the squad in the first round last year eitherSpooferMcNicol wrote: ↑Sat 19 Sep 2020 2:43am Have watched a bit of the Saints lately, cant think of a player who had improved as much as Jack Steele has within a 12 to 15 month period. His breakout year was 2018.SpooferMcNicol wrote: ↑Sat 19 Sep 2020 2:43am Have watched a bit of the Saints lately, cant think of a player who had improved as much as Jack Steele has within a 12 to 15 month period. And now when I say lately, I mean 40 years back.

I think after 3 years of consistently strong form - he's in the brownlow conversation.
People have woken up and taken notice - he can no longer be denied - and this year he's probably stepped it up another notch in the 80% game time - where he can go full throttle. It probably suits his "full on" style.

Re: Jack Steele
I remember when got him someone who had seen a bit of him said he’d be one of our best players in a few years.

Re: Jack Steele
When he was at the Giants, he got dropped to the second tier once (NEAFL maybe?) and I think he collected something like 40 touches.
He really is *special*

Re: Jack Steele
Steele missed 5 games over 3 years under Richo. I don’t know if he was injured or dropped. But it hardly constitutes “in and out of the side”Scollop wrote: ↑Sat 19 Sep 2020 3:15amThe commentators mentioned that Rowan Marshall wasn't picked in the squad in the first round last year eitherSpooferMcNicol wrote: ↑Sat 19 Sep 2020 2:43am Have watched a bit of the Saints lately, cant think of a player who had improved as much as Jack Steele has within a 12 to 15 month period. I just thought it was an interesting fact that Richo preferred Billy Longer in Round 1 of last year
and it could have cost Marshall a Trevor Barker medal

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.
