I reckon we should try and jag Adam Saad
I know we need midfielders but Saad would perfectly fit into our fast game plan. Plus this would also free up Clark to go into the midfield.
If we offered Essendung Dunstan plus one of our fourth round selections would Dildo Dodo accept that?
Thoughts?

I think we have enough half-backs.
What we need is an elite midfielder or one that come develop into elite.

Adrian Dildoro can go to hell. No dealing with Essendon. He'll waste our time and stuff us around just like he does with everyone else. It's always Essendon that holds up all the deals during trade time. The rest of the competition should just blacklist him. He is a an obstructive, annoying turd who thinks he's too clever by half. Truth is he's just a prick.

This should be writ large on a billboard on the Tulla near Essendon Fields. Outstandingcwrcyn wrote: ↑Thu 17 Sep 2020 4:14pm Adrian Dildoro can go to hell. No dealing with Essendon. OMG - So we don't try to trade for Saad because of Dildo, even though he would be a perfect fit for our game plan. Not only that he would free up Clark to go into the midfield which I assume everyone would want. Yeah alright.

Re: I reckon we should try and jag Adam Saad
A good thought Pelican, I was eyeing him off a few years ago. Has that rare ability to break the lines which makes things happen. Obviously Dodoro will be feeling the pressure of the Bombers failings so might be worth a try. Truth is - we dislike Dodoro because he drives a very hard bargain, something we should learn from !

We don't have enough first round picks. He'd ask for 4, at least.SaintPelican66 wrote: ↑Thu 17 Sep 2020 5:30pm OMG - So we don't try to trade for Saad because of Dildo, even though he would be a perfect fit for our game plan. Re: I reckon we should try and jag Adam Saad
I like it, perhaps a swap including Webster, as he seems on the nose with selectors and is a similar type... Saad would also allow Clark to move into the middle, Long could also play some minutes there, rough them up

Re: I reckon we should try and jag Adam Saad
He's a gun ... averaging 270 more metres gained than Long (390 odd to 120 odd) ... and approximately 6.5 more possessions per game (approx 19/game vs 12.5 only for Long).
We might have a lot of hb flankers - but this guy is special.
We should nevertheless focus on gun midfielders.
foot note:
Savage gained a whopping 480 metres in his single appearance this year as a half back flanker at a 80% plus disposal efficiency - and that was not good enough for our selectors !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To put this into persective: It takes Long (who I rate as a player) 4 games to do that - at his 120 metres gained/game average!!

Good call but the Bummers would want Jack Steele,Hunter Clark & our first rounder for him thats just how Dildo rolls but if thinks were different he would be worth a look IMO

Would you rather a Savage 60m kick turnover that results in a score for the opposition or a Long 2m handball or tap that opens up the game and results in a score for us?samoht wrote: ↑Thu 17 Sep 2020 5:48pm He's a gun ... averaging 270 more metres gained than Long (390 odd to 120 odd) ... and approximately 6.5 more possessions per game (approx 19/game vs 12.5 only for Long).

Wouldn't worry about Dodoro. Our guys are sharper than Dan Andrews' spin team.

Re: I reckon we should try and jag Adam Saad
While I didn't intend to make it a Savage vs Long thing, and I'd like to see both players in the side, here's Savage's last year's stats. The Barometer wrote: ↑Thu 17 Sep 2020 8:17pm

(I think Savage deserves a go, that's all).
Savage played 19 games as a half back flanker and I've compared his averages with Long this year as a half back flanker. Obviously we have the shorter matches this year - which must be taken into account.
Disposal Efficiency ..... both are elite at 80% plus - Savage at 83.2% and Long at 81.5%.
Savage averaged 1.9 clangers/match - and the matches were longer last year - whereas Long is averaging 2.5 clangers in the shorther game time.
If you're going to have a clanger, I'd rather the ball was 60 metres away, personally.
Savage averaged 382 metres gained last year - that probably translates to around 300 metres if we factor in the reduced game this year time - vs Long's 120 metres gained.
They are different players - Long is more of an inside player - Savage is a better runner and rebounder.

Would you swap Kingy for him cause I reckon that's the only way that trade will get done.
