Melbourne watch
I can’t believe I’m barracking for Melbourne tonight and I still may not, but them winning does help our quest. So I guess Go Dees.

Re: Melbourne watch
Interesting to hear Lings criticism of GWS dropping their captain given the chat on here.
Personally I think it is a good move and no one should be above that but nice to hear the opposing view given the context of our club and several (including myself) who wouldn't have Geary in every week.

I reckon we will make the finals no matter how bad we are.

We beat GWS we make finalS, we lose and we won’t. That’s what it all boils down to.

Re: Melbourne watch
Yeah sadly I’m of that view also
Our form last 6 weeks isn’t flash we have peaked for mine
I can see Dees pulling out customary “fight back” win tonight then getting trounced by whoever next week
GWS bring back Coniglio next week he does a Kelly on us
We kick points, close game lose by a fast break from our forward line to their defence Green kicks 5
You know the drill....
I’m actually really upbeat about the trade period this year.....

Petracca is exactly what we now miss
Whoever decided on a known diabetic key forward over him needs to have their head read
It’s akin to taking Luke Ball over Judd (thanks GT)...

Re: Melbourne watch
It's mathematically possible that we can still make it even if we lose.
A win next week would make it a certainty though.

Re: Melbourne watch
If Melbourne win tonight then we’d have to rely on them losing to Essendon, which I’d think isn’t likely.

I'm not saying we are great but we are competitive at least.
Let's keep it real.

Re: Melbourne watch
And if we fall in to 8th spot then it means we’ll play a full strength West Coast first week of the finals, probably in Perth.
I think I’d rather miss the 8!

I'm not sure we can beat GWS.
I think we are a chance but maybe I was being too optimistic.

Re: Melbourne watch
We need Melbourne to win by a point or little as possible. Then we can still lose to GWS and make it, even if Melbourne wins their last game. Our % should be ok still and better than Melbourne's.
But if GWS win tonight, we have no choice next week. Its win or die!
Imagine if that extremely fake and dodgy free kick at the end of the West Coast game costs us finals due to %. Same as Oscar Allen's free against Geary. f****** umps.

Re: Melbourne watch
Remember 2008 when we needed to beat the Injectors by 100 points or more in the last round to make the top four ... and we did?
A Melbourne victory tonight followed by a St Kilda loss next week sets up a scenario in which Melbourne only has to beat Essendon by a much smaller amount in the final round.

Re: Melbourne watch
So we want a demons win by say 10 points or less?
That means IF we lose next week and don’t get trounced for Melb to overtake us they’d need to pump dons by a lot??
