Lonie is replaceable and has 1 good game every 6 yes he scrambles but has only 1 side, goes to ground super often
He’s replaceable
I really hope we can start to rest a decent mid through the forward line who can lay a tackle and has some goal sense Gresham type is nice can do both jobs
Butler is your your specialist forward and on occasion I think pushing him up to wing is a good idea - he’s been instrumental in several transition plays back towards goal a few times and he’s reasonably quick

The thing with Kent is that with the exception of this Thursday where he was especially poor, his output really hasn’t changed all that much.

Generally gets 6-12 touches.

What has changed is he’s no longer getting on the end of a few and kicking the 1-2 goals a game...
Especially the clutch goals late.

I agree that he’s pbly had his best patch of form this year since he came to the club but for mine...
His output really hasn’t been good all season and it’s been a worry all season that ppl haven’t wanted to acknowledge because he has been involved in the odd good play.

If he gets 6 touches and 2 shots... whether their 2 goals or 2 behinds his actual output isn’t different.
He’s not been able to contribute more to the team in terms of getting possessions, setting up goals, tackles etc

It’s the exact opposite of what’s happened with King...

King’s marking hasn’t improved and his set shots have dropped quite markedly but the guys work rate and attempts to contribute have been excellent for the most part of the season.

On Thursday, he had 4 shots, three crumbed, brought the ball to ground, ran up the ground to contest and rucked at various contests.

The difference in effort and ability to get involved is night and day...
But for far too long, the coaches and forumites have valued sparkly little moments like the ball spilling out and Kent running into an open goal or getting into space and taking an uncontested mark 30 out directly in front as being a valuable indicator of contribution.

Of all of the small forwards... Kent’s contribution overall has been the worst.
Hind has shown some ability to get a lot of possession or kick difficult goals (albeit he’s badly out of form).

Lonie crumbs and works hard... is actually at the feet of the forwards

Feels to me like Kent relies far too much on the ball coming to him uncontested and once the opponents started man’ing him up properly, he’s been completely found out

Kent's fumbles on Thursday night were at absolutely critical times and undid a lot of good work.

Granted, it was wet and difficult conditions and all players were not clean at times.

A good example is that intercept that Clark did...streaming through the middle. Gives a decent handball off to Kent who just Butchers it.

I'm just sick of that bulltish.
