We’ve regressed back to the Richo era Saints. We’ve totally forgotten what we did and how we played the first half of the year.
Too many plodders keep getting picked. Seb team high clangers again. Geary cost us the first goal of the game and 2 in the last quarter. How many goals has Hill kicked this year? King looks to have the cleanest hands on the ground in our forward 50...
We haven’t played a good game since we beat the Swans. Time to stop accepting mediocrity.
Like someone said earlier, my opinion of Ratten has dropped this second half of the season. What is the game plan? Why do we keep making the same mistakes over and over and over...
Cost the first of the last quarter by letting the ball get passed him in the middle leading to the Kennedy goal, and them getting a run on.
Cost another in the last because he panicked in a simple one-on-one.
He’s a liability.

Stop blaming King as the entry to him was terrible and when he got near the ball he was good, especially for a big man.
Hopefully Kent has played his last game for us as he was crap, in fact based on tonight a lot of players could be dropped. Good news is we may only have more week of this crap
Kid would be a star at Geelong but we’ll stifle his development u watch
Honestly the kid shouldn’t be our saviour down there he’s 15 games in?
Ffs let him play as a lead up forward and not bomb it in so he has to outmark a pack

Got one opportunity on the lead and gobbled it up, shocker! Hopefully the coaches took note.
Was our best player in F50 when the ball went to ground too.

Corrected it to the 10 with out a free and no frees in our forward 50 other than Ryders on the actual 50 line.The_Dud wrote: ↑Thu 10 Sep 2020 11:54pmNope, made up some bulls*** but weren’t quite bright enough to realise it is easily fact checked, and got called out for it.CURLY wrote: ↑Thu 10 Sep 2020 11:48pmAnd corrected it. Everything I said was true, try opening your other eye and watching the players instead of counting free kicks.
He’s a liability, and many agree. How many other club captains even have their place in the side questioned?? It’s embarrassing if he’s given another year.

Yep. He should be playing Marshall or Ryder deep. They have the upper body strength to compete with full grown men. King is a season away from thatTeflon wrote: ↑Thu 10 Sep 2020 11:51pmTried his guts out tonight the delivery in was shithousesuss wrote: ↑Thu 10 Sep 2020 10:52pmMax King?Teflon wrote: ↑Thu 10 Sep 2020 10:47pmKing was great tonightDJ Higgins wrote: ↑Thu 10 Sep 2020 10:45pm Terrible shots at goal cost us. taking too many hopeful snaps. Re: Match Thread
Supporters deserve an explanation about Carllisle's omission. While Howard and Wilkie were honest, the whole defence was beaten. How many loose players were left in open space? Carlisel!! What the F is going on? Coach Explain!
Delist Kent
Membrey - worst season since recruitment - including the one when he couldn't hit a barn door from two meters away.
What a dsisater.
Again - coaching panel! Why was Ryder toiling away against Nat in the last?
Midfield is sooo 'C' grade. Jones doesn't have fingers for a ground ball in traffic. Ross...I dunno, he looks C grade.
Gresham and Dunstan missed.
Butler - as I said early in the season, is patchy, but I concede, small forwards can be. He has played as many sub-par games as great ones.
We are missing confidence too. Billings? Are you OK?
What can they do? The selection committee? they don't want to be seen to be regressive just to win four points. Long may be a forward afterall? Even Savage on a wing?
I wanted Nathan Brown tonight. Remember that guy, but perhaps WC are just too mobile.
Miserable tidings Saints.

Re: Match Thread
Same old same old. Games are won by scoring more than the opposition. Der. The way the ball enters the F50 entry therefore is the driver to score more than the opp. Top sides always are kicking to space, always have 15m chip options, always have structure where players are positioned. We, well we bomb and pray. Also how many times tonight did a F50 go straight to an Eagle? Can't beat the top sides playing this way. Had more inside 50 against most top sides but the bomb is expected, planned for and negated. So disappointed. Eagles were primed for the taking and Ratts couldn't get it done.

Re: Match Thread
Last night, in theory, was the Saints' best chance to beat the Eagles for a while. The Eagles were Injury-struck and the weather conditions should have impacted their kick and mark game, yet the scoreboard says that they still found a way to outscore us.
Very disappointed with the last 10 minutes in particular. Having gotten back in control there was little to stop Nic Nat and Kelly doing what they liked at the end. Even allowing for some dubious umpiring, there was a spirit within the Eagles to change the game's momentum yet again. The Saints had little in response.
The game encapsulated where the Saints are at. To be a force in the league there is still a considerable way to go. As has been pointed out by many on here recruiting has had it's flaws and the midfield is a significant problem. One can only hope that if the AFL do reduce list sizes that more Jack Steele apples fall from trees.
Happier that the penny seems to have dropped that kicking out from the back after points should be long unless there is a rolled gold short option with further prospects downfield. In a game of shorter quarters and lower scoring the mistakes from turnovers at the back that have resulted in goals to the opposition may have made the difference between making and not making finals this year. One can only hope that there is enough left in the tank to deal with GWS next week.
Speed kills. I like the idea in concept of playing at pace but if the result is that the opposition's backs intercept mark at will the smalls have less chance to work their magic. However, aside from Dan Butler, I am unconvinced that any of the other smalls offer consistent performance (the earlier comment notwithstanding) and would expect an overhaul for the GWS match.
