Yep I agree.
Membrey for Marsh is a straight swap.
King to FF releases Marshall to help Ryder in the ruck, with Abbott out.
Carlisle to the backline. A back man this week needs to move up the field. With Long back in form, I think Clark can be released to play on the wing, with Phillips out .

Kent did well this week. Lonie was quiet, but did kick 2, so I think will hold his spot.

Although they were terrible , Marsh and Abbott both made one important contribution in the last quarter, which will obviously will assist their morale and the team’s.

Again, Geary adds nothing and is only there IMO because he has the C next to his name.

Surely a Roberton or Savage adds more to the side?

Out: long bombs into the forward line

In: forwards who are on the move and mids/wingers prepared to lower their eyes.

Composure is critical. We've had no issue getting the ball inside 50 this year. But if we continue our current trend, McGovern and Barrass will feast and we will get smacked

Geary should retire at the end of this year.

I agree with this

For finals quality footy, we need to change both system and personnel

Players include Abbot, Marsh, Lonie, Kent, Phillips

But players aside, our systematic weaknesses remain
Blind long bombs inside 50
Forwards converging and all contesting the same ball, always a long bomb
Lack of players presenting up to the ball (our fast ball movement comes from players running downstream)
Terrible defence of kick ins
Terrible execution of kick ins

We're well coached at stoppage, and discipline and cohesion are good...but there's a lot of room for improvement. We're still vulnerable against a good side, especially since our weaknesses are plain to see

Can join the St Kilda hub after 14 days in the AFL isolation holiday resort.
So theoretically can play round 18 but with no time to reveal form.

OUT McGovern thumb injury.

Hope Nic Nat is not fit to play.
It would be so nice to let Hickey show us why we ditched him.
Got monstered by an English man.
If only to help Stonecold !!! with his recovery.

The calls for Roberton to play are baffling, I half can understand calls for Savage.

Roberton and Savage wont play again this year,, maybe they might take the big gamble with Savage but it's way too late in the Season to try and get players fittness and conditioning up to a level that won't embarrass anyone. Having said that it's desperation stakes in terms of selection options, Abbot and Marsh are exhibit A.

But I would think at the very least they have put a fork in Robbo, I wonder if he will even be playing next year, Austin, Clavarino and Robbo cant all stay on the list with the savage cuts that will happen immediately from October 25.

Dunstan played in our scratch match apparently (not that we get any communication from the club as to what’s going on at the “lower level”) and is a chance to play against WC

No reserves comp, combined with fewer training sessions in the frenzy makes it so difficult to pick replacement players on form.

I thought marsh competed well, and Abbot for less than 10 games pretty good too.

In
Membrey, King, Carlisle,
I would leave Marsh in and have Kent out. I see him as a much bigger and more powerful version, but his size alone demands some sort of accountability from a decent sized defender.

And he's still very quick, so we don't really lose any pace. There was a couple of times yesterday where his brute strength got us out. We still have our smalls in Lonie, Sincs and Butler, and he's the type of player that could really stretch a defence by being 3rd or 4th in line IMO.

Kent laid a beautiful brutal tackle on the hawks best player. Helpful in our win. Marsh has quick hands, deserves to get a few games to see how he goes.

Kent broke Warple.

In : King, Membrey, Carlisle, Bytel

Out : Abbott, Marsh, Phillips, Lonie

The only time our clearances have looked decent in the last month is with Jack Bytel in the middle.

We definitely need help in the midfield, but I dont think we have the depth (until Hannebrey & Gresham) are ready. Our clearance work has been exposed in recent times. Sinclair is improving each week but is not a clearance winner.

I am also worried about Ratt's use of Battle, I think he is starting to look tired and burnt out. Ratt's is changing his role each week and it is simply too demanding on the kid.

Out: Abbott, Marsh, Phillips
Ins: Carlilse, Membrey, King

Tough as for the selectors; King in Abbott out seems straight forward, but Eagles play tall so both in side may be considered. Membrey in clearly, if fit, possibly Jack L out for him. Defence is going ok without Jake ? Dogs beat them for speed, I think. Phillips is ok and has an upside? One passage he was in our goal square, Hawks went coastal and there he was deep in the defensive 50 so he can move. Got a pat from Alistair too. Marsh looked powerful and dynamic when the whips were cracking, and continuity is good for form. Glad its not me having to decide. I am sure you are too.
