hawks breathing fire following adelaide loss
You'd imagine the internal blowtorch will be in full force after last nights loss
will not be an easy match by any stretch, especially if our confidence is waning and the pressure of finals is mounting
need to stick to the plan, follow the process and not F it up like we did against the dees!
give me the faith fellow saintsationalists!

Re: hawks breathing fire following adelaide loss
Would have thought that following the embarrassing loss last week but the reality is they have lost 9 of their past 10.
If we can't get the job done we don't deserve to be in finals

Re: hawks breathing fire following adelaide loss
Hawthorn are really shithouse.
We just want a win but we should beat them by 5 goals at a minimum.
Clarko will now tank and play kids to get better draft picks. A few senior blokes will get dropped.

If we cannot beat the Hawks, we do not deserve to be in the 8.

Re: hawks breathing fire following adelaide loss
I would have thought that this header should have been:
"saints breathing fire following melbourne loss"
After all, St Kilda should never have gotten done by the Dees, and I expect the players will have immense desire to secure a top 8 spot after the weekend.
There is plenty of motivation for the team to give the Hawks a bath....

Re: hawks breathing fire following adelaide loss
My advice is call your bank manager and ask for the biggest loan possible and divert the cash to your favorite bookie and ask him to put it all on the Saints to win by more than 6 goals, which in the old scale is a 100 point thrashing.
Clarko is officially tanking and will be hoping to finish the season in 17th.
A big win agianst the Hawks has never been a safer bet.

Umm...we're talking about St Kilda, the club that has a long and infamous history of losing a game that they should win.Secret Kiel wrote: ↑Wed 02 Sep 2020 6:28pm My advice is call your bank manager and ask for the biggest loan possible and divert the cash to your favorite bookie and ask him to put it all on the Saints to win by more than 6 goals, which in the old scale is a 100 point thrashing.

The Universe has decreed that Saints supporters are to suffer the death of a thousand cuts.
Doomed to have the Golden Apples of Hesperus dangled within reach, only to have them snatched away cruelly.
I can see the 3 witches from that Scottish play, chuckling and smirking at the misery they have caused.

Re: hawks breathing fire following adelaide loss
The current Sunday weather forecast is predicting some rain
West Coast play Bulldogs straight after us at Metricon as well which is good for us
Wonder if if they get the players to hang around to watch that game given we have the Eagles 4 days later

Ok here's another prediction: The Macquarrie Dictionary will announce the word "unprecedented" as the official word of 2020.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Wed 02 Sep 2020 6:39pmUmm...we're talking about St Kilda, the club that has a long and infamous history of losing a game that they should win.Secret Kiel wrote: ↑Wed 02 Sep 2020 6:28pm My advice is call your bank manager and ask for the biggest loan possible and divert the cash to your favorite bookie and ask him to put it all on the Saints to win by more than 6 goals, which in the old scale is a 100 point thrashing.

Why?
Because when was the last time an AFL coach publically announced a win was not his priority and then proceeded to get spanked by the Crows.
It's a Whacky years WS, call your bank manager NOW!

We have already lost to Melb. So already our chances look ordinary at best.desertsaint wrote: ↑Wed 02 Sep 2020 1:39pm not ideal, but as above. lose to them and what hope would be be in finals anyway?

Re: hawks breathing fire following adelaide loss
We should absolutely destroy Hawthorn. They will have had 4, 4, and 5 day rests between their last few games compared to our 6, 5 and 7 day breaks. For once we will be the much fresher side and Hawthorn's confidence would be shattered after being the first team beaten by Adelaide this year.
If we can't put away the Hawks we are absolute pretenders who do not deserve to be anywhere near a finals game. Should be a valuable percentage boost coming up.They have a handful of good players but a whole lot of list cloggers and ordinary/underdeveloped youth filling out the side.
Have Steele go head to head with Mitchell, have Paton/Coffield keep Wingard on a tight leash and kick it into space for King to run into rather than bombing it up for McEvoy to mark and we're good.

I love your optimism/arrogance but I reckon we lose this game but win our next 2 to scrape into finals.mad saint guy wrote: ↑Thu 03 Sep 2020 1:29am We should absolutely destroy Hawthorn. Let Steele do what he does best, gather 26 possies and create the play

Minchington and McEvoy. You'd have to laugh wouldn't you if they played blinders and we got done.
