Re: Trade talk
Yes agree. Didn’t he want a million bucks? 27 next year which is ok, but would rather a younger player yet to reach his full potential. Could he part of a flag push? I guess if Hill can be, so could Brad Crouch. But not at mega-dollars. He’s not that good a player.

Re: Trade talk
The minimum wage at the Saints is 800k so I would offer the following:
Couch $900 k
Caldwell $1.1 million
De Goey 1.8 million
Couch $900 k
Caldwell $1.1 million
De Goey 1.8 million

DeGoey is a big Yes from me
I remember about 6 years ago we were on the verge of bringing a similar talented if wayward Tigers player over and it was over ruled.

Re: Trade talk
Caldwell and Constable (if he's on the move) should be our priorities. Perfect types and age bracket.
Zac Williams definitely, if getable.
I've heard a whisper that Jeremy C is very seriously considering the move home. Cats are into him big time. Things arent too rosy at GWS apparently. Don't think the players and coaches are on the same page about things and not everyone happy about LC getting an extension. Only what I've heard from someone that has a little bit to do with the club. No specifics, but sounds like some egos are getting brusied and noses are out of joint.
We may see a bit of an exodus from there. Interesting to watch what happens. Shake that tree Saints!!
I'm not really interested in older players on offer, although Sexton could possibly be a good fit. We're lacking another medium forward. Not getting a game at GC and lead their goal kicking last year. We have way to many smalls on the list. Its not a priority though.
Polac is an enigma. Something not right there. Pass
Crouch, not for what he's asking. Pass.
DeGoey if he really is available ....the old risk versus reward conundrum.
The guy is a flog, but the flog can play!!
Injuries starting to become an issue and I wonder if his proffesionalism is part of that problem? He never looks fit to me.
Could be a huge get or a huge bust...and with our history...
If we could make him swear he'll be a good boy and eat all his vegetables, then it would be a definite yes. I'm on the fence with this one which is a shame, as a player of his ability is exactly what we need.

Re: Trade talk
You do get that feeling of GWS that they are just getting by on individual efforts and not as a team. Be happy to take which ever midfielder falls out of that tree. I think we can could pick players like Caldwell, Hately, Constable or even Collier-Dawson without giving away the world and getting a player or two ready to blossom.
Consequently I doubt DeGoey would be on our radar as Collingwood would want ridiculous trades for him.
Hopefully the AFL dont cut list sizes this year, as I see it as our only chance of remaining relevant in the 2nd round of the draft, by trading some fringe players. If lists are cut every club would be off loading players.

Re: Trade talk
Surely DeGoey falls into some no dickheads policy somewhere?
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

Re: Trade talk
The only ones that leave Collingwood are the guys that are pushed out the door. They aren’t losing De Goey

Re: Trade talk
Bust a gut to get Zac Williams as a RFA (no draft pick cost) and pay him what he wants. Use our first pick to trade to GWS for Jye Caldwell (and maybe a 2nd rounder back if possible) and pay him what he wants. Crouch is an older and slightly more polished Dunstan. De Goey is a terrific footballer when fit but Collingwood would want the world and then some ... which we don't have. Plus ... he might end up having a little custodial holiday mid-contract.
Go you red, black & white warriors

2 of the following will do me just fine;
Lukosius, Butters, Caldwell, Hatley, Constable, Stack, Kelly or Williams.

Re: Trade talk
I'm not sure our success with a "no dickheads policy" has been a winner.
Perhaps that should have applied to off field personnel.

Re: Trade talk
Luke Parker?
Still very handy player... Rfa I believe.
Swans clearly rebuilding. Wouldn’t cost too much?
Get a couple of good years at least from him. Meanwhile try and develop, trade and draft our next crop of mids, which is starting to emerge already.

Re: Trade talk
The more I think about it the more I like Caldwell & RCD, neither should cost the house and keep our draft picks in place, this year & next.
We are still trying to bed down Hill & Hannebery, I'm not sure our salary cap, list and supporters can afford another high priced recruit.
That said, I'd love Kelly but that love is very much conditional.

Two? Don't be silly... we'll get at least half of them... in this one off-season
Gehrig emerged from scans yesterday saying he was "as sweet as a bun"

Re: Trade talk
Could be wrong about this but don't think Jaxons is as connected to the new regime as he once was.
His posts and any inside information are still welcome though.
