Why would you rest him a week before the bye?

Because 3 weeks is better than two. Gives him longer to recover.

Just leave it to the experts at the club to make the call.

If he misses the Dees game it will be 2 weeks rest as the bye does not provide a full week extra off. It just gives us 8 days between Dees and Hawks.

Resting King is a small step for Saint kind.
Resting King is a giant leap for Demon kind.

Resting Hunter worked out well

Unless he's injured, play him. We shouldn't take this mob lightly. Sew up a finals berth before we think about giving anyone a holiday

Yes, but if we didn't have the bye then we'd have more 4 day breaks.

If you're strategising, would you get ready for an assault on the summit from 8th to 5th, it's not as though we'll have to travel interstate and we gave the lions a shake on home soil. Kingy would be knackered at a guess.

Clark got a knock to the knee at training and was not risked

King should play - we don’t want Marshall parked that close to goal, plus they have Gawn to keep our rucks honest

This is a vital game so we go 100%

Once we cement a Finals spot we can rest some

Until then 100% ahead at full steam

If results fall and a top 4 beckons keep going but that outcome is not in our hands except us winning

Would have made sense to rest King when we had 4 days between games, he should be fine with 8

King doesn’t have to do much. Stay on the ground for 35-40 mins in an already shortened game. Grab 6-10 possessions and that is enough to have an enormous and positive influence.

As Cameron Mooney said of him,

“That reach, the ability to run, to get the ball on the ground or in the air – whatever it is, he made Essendon change the way they wanted to play.

“He didn’t have a huge influence on the scoreboard, but his influence on the game was much bigger than three goals”

Same thing, confuses me as to why rest Hunter for Brisbane and not during the footy fiesta.

Is this just a rumour about resting King or did Ratts say something about it?

Yeah you wouldn't think resting King in the most important game of our run home would be a wise choice, especially as our fixture is no longer condensed.

From saints.com.au

"And if there’s one Saint to provide just that, plus brilliant rebounding, superb evasive skills and support to the midfield, it’s Hunter Clark.

The No. 11 was rested last weekend against Brisbane after receiving a knock to his knee in the lead-up to the match, but is a likely inclusion for Saturday’s Alice Springs encounter."

More than happy for King to rest and recharge. He’s extremely young and coming off a knee reco.
Long term he probably needs the rest, short term it may well hurt us.
