Yeah he impressed under pressure
I thought Sinclair stepped up late
Jones tried hard
Steele just has to be captain
Geary is finished

Gresham Clark or Hannebery would have made a difference.
They had no injuries and with the exception of Stefan Martin full strength.

Billings got us back into it. Kicked a very hard goal too.
He needs to do better though.

It would have been a steal but we went inside 1 more time and that non score in the first I think would be hard to ever do again. Not much went out way today apart from Brisbane’s kicking.

Should have won in the end. Had all the momentum last 10 minutes. Needed a snap to go in and/or King to hold a mark. Just a bit of luck. Had a lot of passengers for a good chunk of the game.

For a guy in his prime drafted 2013 that’s simply not enough
Trade fodder for mine
Why keep a guy who can inconsistently only play half forward FFs?
We need midfield class he ain’t up to it when you need him
Carlyle too
We can’t stand still now have to go forward and time to be ruthless

Disposals - 271 v 271
Inside 50's - 39 v 38
Free Kicks - 11 v 11
Contested Possessions 110 v 108
We matched them except in one stat - and this killed us:
Their disposal efficiency I50 - 55.3%
Our disposal efficiency I50 - 43.6%
A team that kicked 6.14 had a 20% better disposal efficiency than us.
Talk about kick it to a defender!

Maybe he and/or Clark go into the middle to help out Steele and Jones. That’s where you have to control the ball. Half back flankers are a lot easier to find than A-grade midfielders and I think both could become that.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Lions Round 13 2020
I would say he’s in our top 5 players so far this year. Had a shocking first half and still ended up equal 4th most touches for us and a goal.Teflon wrote: ↑Sun 23 Aug 2020 7:05pmFor a guy in his prime drafted 2013 that’s simply not enough

Just couldn’t get into the game, but to his credit he kept trying and he nearly stole it for us in the end.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sun 23 Aug 2020 7:08pmI would say he’s in our top 5 players so far this year. More influential than Lachie Neal for them and Brad “Bruise Free” Hill

Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda. Lions should have won by more. We werent good enough on the day but close. Thats ok. We learn, we move on. We're good enough to compete with the best teams but not quite there. Good match.

Good one douchebag. Go and look at my praise of his magnificent centre clearance that hit Max on a lead in the 3rd. But when it counts under pressure - he’s awful.
Seriously - don’t be a bell end.

Don't agree.
He continues to improve and is absolute class. No way do we let him go.

Sums it up very nicely.

Absolutely spot on, I’d be more inclined to put Hill and Carlisle back on the market.

I think you're being a bit harsh. Having said that, I take your point; he’s tradeble for the right price but I think most of the list is apart from a few.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Lions Round 13 2020
Billings does normally play wing, but for some reason was shifted half forward, and didn't get near it. Went back to wing/HF after half time and did much better. Absolute class, something we have very little of, and essential for the next few years.SaintPav wrote: ↑Sun 23 Aug 2020 7:25pmI thought he plays wing.Teflon wrote: ↑Sun 23 Aug 2020 7:05pmFor a guy in his prime drafted 2013 that’s simply not enough

Re: Match Thread Saints v Lions Round 13 2020
Regardless of how close that was, we had no business winning that game. This effort wouldn't have beaten any team in the comp let alone a top 4 competitor. Brisbane were actually bad, and we were worse.
