Still needs to tear a game apart. Should have done it against Essendon really.

If he rips one apart from this point on, especially with the sides we have to play, it will be massive.
I'd be giving him a rest. If it weren't for the Pandemic he wouldn't have played as many games by now.

Says who? I think we've established by now that what you claim will / will not happen is way off the mark.

He can have a rest this year, many players have. He has earned his spot every week by clearly being our best tall forward.

You've embarrassed yourself by saying he's had an average year and should be dropped 2 days before he gets a rising star nom, just own it.
But Hill and Gresh shouldn't be in the team according to you....interesting take on the game.
Dude, you now can't even get events that have happened right...

Said Gresh needed a week off because of his horrendous set shot / general kicking. That's about it.

While you've tried to write off the likes of Howard, King and now Bytel, at least own it.
So using your logic to its obvious conclusion, shouldn't Kingy be dropped every time he drops a mark or shanks a set shot.
Oh my...

Do you watch the games?

I’ve $14 at $15 for Maxy to win the award. I think he needs to kick 10 more goals in the last 5 to take it out

Max King will be our no 1 player by the age of 23. Calling it now.

Can Rowell win it? If so, is he allowed to win two of them?

Rowell is eligible this year but his body of work has already been overtaken by most nominated. He will still be eligible next season as he would’ve played under 10 games

Cheers GiK but ultimately isn't it a 5 to 1 voting system on who people believe the better player is. I don't understand the body of work parameter / restriction.

Very highly likely.

He looks more dangerous than any other first year forward I can remember.

We are still only getting glimpses really.

In 2 years time (August 2022) if Max is still a full forward, call me out. He will be a midfielder/2nd ruck, and be an All Australian in that role.

What was Max’s ankle injury last year was it that “syndesmosis”?

It is a great question, but I agree with GiK that he just hasn’t played enough games . There has to be a reasonable body of work, or else it becomes absurd. What if he had just played 2 games ? What if only 1 but had 40 disposals and kicked 6 ? Can he really be the best young player for this year given he will not have got a stat for 14 weeks ?

What is clear is that he will be at about $1.02 to win it next year !

You are right it is a subjective selection , but I expect the judges will look to someone else, and satisfy themselves that Rowell is still eligible next year.

Of course if Max can kick a few bags then the position is beyond doubt.

Sports bet have him paying like $5.50 now.

Bundle that into a Saints flag multi and it looks pretty good :P

Tit or tat???

I was reading tits and tats and was looking for a link

Actually not a fan of tats at all, not remotely, particularly on the fairer sex.

Don't like the full sleeve tats at all.

So an athletic 206cm guy who runs like the wind and is skilled but hasn't played in 2 years off the back of in juries, bursts onto the AFL scene and shows glimpses of brilliance like carving up an AA defender in what should have been a 5 goal 1/4 will be our best player in 4 years time and you're calling it now.

To be fair you are not really going out on a limb there johnearljames.
