Congratulations Maxy. He played good although his nomination surprises me. And before anyone gets offended with that comment just ask yourself how it rates amongst some of the other quality games by nominees over the years.

Re: Max King Rising Star
He should have kicked four and could easily had 5 but he also meant that Essendon had to change their backline to counter him.
In all an impressive game from a player in first year at AFL level.

No doubt. Well done, but he needs to follow up with a good game against the Lions. I hope Bytel plays well enough to get a nomination this season too.

Has his brother been nominated previously?

Re: Max King Rising Star
And remember , he had played hardly any footy in the 2 seasons prior to this ,through injury.
Bytel is in a similar position - no footy last season.
So, I'm really impressed by what these guys have been able to do so far.

You can forgive a bloke for having an opinion on a guy that hasn't debuted in AFL but I'm not sure what to make of a bloke that thinks a player like Hill is useless and should be dropped.The_Dud wrote: ↑Tue 18 Aug 2020 2:00pmPretty good effort for a bloke you think should be playing in the 2ndsSecret Kiel wrote: ↑Tue 18 Aug 2020 1:54pm Congratulations Maxy. "However King is lucky there is a pandemic on as he would have been sent back to Sandy by now. He has been average in most games so lets hope he continues to improve. At the moment his main contribution is his height and blocking the ball to crumbing forwards."
Seems pretty clear to me.
And again, said Hill was too soft but a great kick, don't think I ever called for him to be dropped.

I’m pretty sure they compare his game to the others who played this week, not to how Kosi played in 2001.Secret Kiel wrote:Congratulations Maxy. He played good although his nomination surprises me. Re: Max King Rising Star
This is very true. It is a nice little feather in his cap & a fillip for the Club. I do understand the sentiment by S*K*, whilst not the greatest game to ever receive a nomination, it is certainly exciting for St Kilda and the supporters that Max has so much scope to improve.kosifantutti wrote: ↑Tue 18 Aug 2020 2:57pmI’m pretty sure they compare his game to the others who played this week, not to how Kosi played in 2001.Secret Kiel wrote:Congratulations Maxy. Rowell, Anderson and Rankin have played better games to date but there's no ceiling on Max.

Me too. Clearly a round of footy that won't make the cut on the AFL classic moments video but as I say good on Maxy for picking up the burger award for this week.kosifantutti wrote: ↑Tue 18 Aug 2020 2:57pmI’m pretty sure they compare his game to the others who played this week, not to how Kosi played in 2001.Secret Kiel wrote:Congratulations Maxy. It compares favorably with most 18-19 games when they are nominated.Secret Kiel wrote: ↑Tue 18 Aug 2020 3:27pmMe too. Re: Max King Rising Star
A burger award is a burger award. I used to win it weekly from Nicks Fish N Chips for BOG. I went onto big things from there.kosifantutti wrote: ↑Tue 18 Aug 2020 3:55pmYou’re surprised, but not surprised?Secret Kiel wrote: ↑Tue 18 Aug 2020 3:27pmMe too. Funnily enough, the 2 places I have seen it are here, and on Wikipedia. So not sure where this started, but not trusting it just yet.

More than that, Wikipedia also has Max King as the 2020 winner with 43 votes.diddley wrote: ↑Tue 18 Aug 2020 5:09pmFunnily enough, the 2 places I have seen it are here, and on Wikipedia. So not sure where this started, but not trusting it just yet.
