Don't you love to see that?
Billings with that silky left foot finds young King on the run and he goes back and nails it from 50.
Highlight of the night for me.
(Should have had about 6 but it's OK any week now he's gonna have that big, break out game.)

This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf--
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

No problemo with the laziness. Big couple of games coming up. Id rather a dull small win here and be fit for the next games than thrash them and burn our legs.

13 disposals so far, been good.
One crook kick and the pile-on starts. Again.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Bombers Round 12 2020
41 points up half way through the 2nd, then we just splutter along to a 35 point win against a trash team coming off a 4 day break.
The last 2-3 weeks have been rather uninspiring.

Was confident of beating them 2 weeks ago, not so anymore.Enrico_Misso wrote: ↑Sun 16 Aug 2020 6:51pm Seven day break till a really really BIG game against the Lions
Will have to put in a much better performance than the last 2 weeks.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Bombers Round 12 2020
Our midfield is still our achilles heel. Essendon's mids ran rings around us in that second half. We need more class in there and it's not coming from within the playing list, so we need to go and get one from somewhere else.

As we have seen many times before....time catches up with players.
If as in our captains case, you don't have great skills, you can't even fall back on that, you quickly become surplus to needs

Our backline is capable of beating their forward line, if we beat their midfield we win.Enrico_Misso wrote: ↑Sun 16 Aug 2020 6:51pm Seven day break till a really really BIG game against the Lions

Re: Match Thread Saints v Bombers Round 12 2020
Disappointing 2nd half but take a 6 goal win
One more win and definitely 2 should guarantee finals
Top 4 is looking less likely though - will probably need to win 4 out of our last 5 for that

Re: Match Thread Saints v Bombers Round 12 2020
I dunno, there were quite a lot of clear hitout wins that just didn't quite come off that would have made a huge difference. I think we missed Gresh on the dash into the centre for those failed clearences, just lining up the ball
Which is not to say we don't have deficiencies there, but I don't think we were that comprehensively beaten

Every week the opposition's top four midfield possession winners collect at least 20 more possessions than our top four midfield possession winners.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Bombers Round 12 2020
Our ball movement and delivery into the forward line in the first 1.5 quarters was great, totally changed and turned to trash after that.
