The swans are a better side than I thought which makes our win against them also better than I thought.😆🙂🙃😉
The Swans have a lot of good youth. As does Gold Coast. Both will be much harder to beat in 2021

North and Hawks heading the other way.

Don’t get too excited by byes. GWS were coming off a “bye” last night. They played six days earlier. It’s just that there was a five day round in between.

We don’t get a bye this week but we still get the same break as GWS.

That's exactly right. It not so much about a bye; it's about the days break between games. The Cats and Pies have had a pretty brutal 2 & 1/2 weeks so, they need one. Comparatively, we've had very few back-to-back games.

I look at it this way. We get the bye if we go to Perth. Do we really want that?
History is against us for many reasons in Perth, mostly due to free goals related to umpires decisions. We haven't had a free kick advantage since 2009 in Perth and Eagles get a lot in front of goal in Perth. We were equal in frees during 2010. In the last 23 games leading back to 2001 we have had a equal numbers of frees with Eagles, 5 draws and 13 times we lost the free count (some with large differences). Some one with money must have made an offer in 2077 because we won that free count at Perth 29 to 19!!!

We don't want to go to Perth unless they remove those WA umps as they did for while in 2019 when the tallies with other clubs started to look neutral. I know frees don't win matches but in Perth they get a lot of goals from frees despite them hanging onto players like Geelong did last week.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Dodged a huge bullet not playing them in Perth. They're unbeatable there at present (even more than normally). And it's at the Gabba (more like our home ground than Metricon)

Both clubs play on Sunday and then meet on Thursday.
Saints get a 100 hour break.
