Yep.
Savage
Marsh
Ross
Byrnes
Even D Mac
Just fresh bodies, concede the game , but rest up for the Bombers, confidence still red hot.
Tactical blunder

Why didn't we rotate more at selection then??

I think the Eagles will do the same for us when we face them too.Teflon wrote: ↑Mon 10 Aug 2020 10:37pmYep cats and pies ahead of us
I’m not blown away by how cats are I actually think a full strength pies will roll them
We just need to keep building for the future we must go hard for elite midfield talent.....it may mean we have to offer up someone....that’s life
But our time will come if we keep pumping games into the kids.
Would trade our first round pick this season and see what we can get.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Cats Round 11 2020
Just got home from the game. Despite the scoreline it was good to see the boys and the 2020 change in gameplan/style was noticable. We (even in this game) are a much better side than the last 3 years.
I think it was lost in selection (or availability). We really needed a few hard bodies in the contest. Not necessarily ball winners but those that can influence the physical side of the game, put some body on body and take up the dangerous space.
Geelong was happy to create 50/50 contests at all times, but made sure that if they won them they were through on us, but if they lost they were still able to apply some pressure.

Agreed - Geelong rested 4 last week who came into this one fresh - they killed us.Russman wrote: ↑Mon 10 Aug 2020 9:37pm It was a wasted opportunity at the selection table I think.
I would have liked to have seen the likes of Savage, Lonie and Abbott in the team. I know they are not in our best 22 and wouldn't have transformed into a win, but would have
provided fresh legs and given a few other players a break.

Adds insult to the injury of the defeat. We were, in part, paying for him to be out there against us tonight.
Yet I still hear some people talking about what a great piece of business the whole fiasco has been.
We got rooked. Plain and simple.

Let’s also give credit where due. Geelong were very good. Their defence was superb.

Tony was there any consideration of resting more of the players this week?
It appeared pretty obvious we limped over the line last week and we were always going to struggle this week.

Not up there mate so I can’t give you much. All l knew was they were going to load up with mids but it just didn’t work. I do know we were really worried about the 5 day then 4 day break and that Geelong had basically a practice run last game. So I was expecting a few changes.
