Fair dinkum, 4 touches in a game from your captain and 7 from your highest priced player,
neither good enough to tie Billings' bootlaces!
Geary as an automatic selection is a liability.
Reckon you’re a liability pal.

We scored four points, they scored 7.4.

Geelong had 12 players aged between 29 and 34 in their team today. Most of those players are high quality and big bodied. This was always going to be a tough game. We looked knackered and they didn't. Once agin, though, when we lose it's because our midfield just isn't strong enough.

Yeah I honestly think that we just write this one off and move on.

I hate losing but there is definitely a bigger picture.

Yep we were rag dolled tonight
Cats have stacks 30+ so they’re in the window now
Sides will pressure us now though - stop saints run u stop saints
You can’t have a total game plan built around small forwards kicking bags every week sooner or later we need a forward structure that allows King to run and jump on lead and not kick on top of his head

No reason why we can't bounce back.
We bounced back after the Freo loss.
We get Jones and Ryder back
The key is how we manage the players during the week to get them physically up for Essendon.

Bytel and Philips were the only two fresh guys on the ground. Blind Freddy could see we were running on empty against the Suns. Reckon we lost this at selection, more fresh legs would have made a difference.

Lets hope this hasn't destroyed our confidence and we can regroup.

Some difficult times at the selection table ahead when your captain and vice captain are not in the best 22 and possibly the two highest paid players in Hill and Carlisle are more interested in the dollar than the ball.

Rowan’s strength, speed, and balance was unbelievable tonight (couldn’t believe how many times his opponents were slipping over). The umpire gifted him a goal early and it lifted his spirits. When he is on he is explosive and can’t be stopped. Gears was lost trying to defend against him in the second half

We actually won inside 50s - 44 to 40

And Contested ball - 118 to 110

Clearances even 31 apiece

We lost uncontested possession and marks badly which shows we couldn't get pressure on them

They won tackles as well very easily - so it shows our pressure was non existent

Symptoms of a 4 day break?

Geelong had 12 players between the ages of 29 and 34. We had 6 players over the age of 24 (Geary, Kent, Sinclair, Carlisle, Hill, and Membrey) and 11 players aged 22 and under.

Yep
16 days ago when we played our first of 4 games in that time we kicked 12 .1
Tonight we kicked 4 . 10
If we had of been able to kick a bit straighter we might of looked a bit better .
But we looked slack and got smashed .
Hopefully we can respond on sunday

Maybe something to that.
Geelong flew from the west on four days and played very well.

Four days itself, maybe not an excuse.

And we were really smashed in defense tonight too. And unlucky with an incredible number of lucky bounces Geelong were blessed with.

My question is why we didn't ring a few more changes.

Cats are pretty good and well drilled side with plenty of experienced bodies and players.

Similar sort of game vs Collingwood, recover well during the week and then come out well vs the bombers.

Or none at all? If I had to pick two guys to miss that would guarantee we couldn’t compete, it would have been Ryder and Jones.

We sort of had a bob each way and walked away with a blood nose and confidence dented.

Yep cats and pies ahead of us
I’m not blown away by how cats are I actually think a full strength pies will roll them

We just need to keep building for the future we must go hard for elite midfield talent.....it may mean we have to offer up someone....that’s life
