Talk it up vs Cats....
I seem to be a bit flat about this game.
I just reckon we are gonna drop it.
Nothing would please me more than if we come out and run them off the park.
Thoughts?

Re: Talk it up vs Cats....
I think our clearance midfield looks a bit light on for experience without a couple of Ross/Jones/Dunstan/Hannebery.
It seems to be leaving an awful lot to Steele, who, despite his “Man of” nickname, isn’t Superman.
Maybe Ratts will throw Billings in there or Clark or pull something else out of the hat, but I feel we are down one experienced extractor.
It’s a big game and I’m not overly confident.

The old “throw ‘me in at the deep end” philosophy. I’m excited for the kid and hope he isn’t overawed coming up against Danger, Selwood etc.

Re: Talk it up vs Cats....
I'm the same, don't have high hopes for this game (though I have been like that for a few good wins this year) but for some reason we seem to play better against the better sides this year, so hoping to be pleasantly surprised!
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

Hopefully we can get over the line tonight. We do have a tough run home Brisbane, West Coast and GWS still to come.
Its always good to beat those felines too.

5 days then 4 days. This is the hardest test. But we do like the Gabba. Will be hard to run it out though. What I’m hearing is they’re not as fresh as you would like but no doubt either are the opposition.

That tells me we will win comfortably.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

We're cooked for this game. Won't win.
Will be right for Bombers on Sunday though.

Re: Talk it up vs Cats....
I’ve nearly conceded this one. The way Greenwood and Gold Coast destroyed us in the centre last week, short break, and Hunter interview on SEN on Friday has me thinking we will be flat. Hopefully not and if we are hopefully old man Geelong are flatter.

Re: Talk it up vs Cats....
I'd love to see Paton given a run with role on Selwood. I just think he is ready to play an accountable role in the middle and he has been good on a few dynamic forwards so far, he might surprise a few offensively as well.
I've no idea what Ratten would think of the idea but I'm sure his confidence in the younger guys to get jobs done this year is high.
With Bytel playing his first game and a huge ? on giving Billings or Hill a defensive mid role, Steele will have to go with Paddy and Gresh will go in and under the ruckman's feet. Billings and Hill will be handy on the periphal of the clearance.

Re: Talk it up vs Cats....
Our ruck is our only advantage in the middle. We have to be smart. Ryder is very good at palming the ball to advantage so we need to make room for Gresh to get a run at it. Bytel game is probably going to be more about blocking space for Gresh and co to run into. We can get them on the outside with speed (if we can keep it up is the problem) I think we may run out of gas tickets here and that game suits the Cats unfortunately. I'm hopeful but not confident.

They like playing at Cardinia Park, a sardine can with no wings.
Look at the Gabba on google earth it has wings where our runners can destroy them.

Alright, I’m in, we win. Marshall smashes Stanley and we are able to keep the middle relatively even and Hill, Hind, Buttler and Billings run them ragged.

Re: Talk it up vs Cats....
I think the pace of the team will get the better of the Cats so I would give Hind a crack in the centre as well as Clark.
I am confident the backline matches up well and the Saints forward might just have a sneaky edge.
This game will be won around the clearances and disposal efficiency .
I expect an absolute cracker of game.

Re: Talk it up vs Cats....
I’m feeling good about tonight. We’ve achieved plenty this year already and have made a lot of progress. We won’t lose any of that tonight. Four day break and a couple of outs don’t help, especially against a pretty experience line up, but it’s a great opportunity to see where we are at. Great chance for Bytel to get a close up look at some seriously good mids. This game alone will be worth ten in terms of experience for him.
Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.
