1/2 time
Saints 6.2.38 v Suns 6.5.41
18 tackles for a half - disgusting

“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns Round 10 2020
Take away from that 1/2... I think we’re a hell of a lot better than GC.
Don’t know if it’s the wet, or complacency in attitude but sloppy free kicks, BS forward entries and indecisive decision making let GC back into that match and get there confidence up.
Hill needs to kick the ball instead of hand balling
Clarke needs to fix up his disposal
Steele needs to get more
Our forwards need to lead
We need to tackle and pressure better

Yep, not surprising after watching that first half. Everyone’s waiting for someone else to do it.
Feels like we’re lucky to be as close as we are, but that if we pull our finger out we can run away with the game, neither team is playing great.
Hopefully Ratts gives them a spray!

Also looks like a few might be getting ahead of themselves.

Can't afford a slack 3rd qtr this week.
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Somewhat lazy half of football.
Suns walked us for at least three of their goals that quarter.
Need to improve a lot to get this win.
And here comes the third quarter.....

Smashed in clearances and contested ball
Suns like to play quick and we need to slow them down somehow
Playing into their hands

Umps are a bloody disgrace. Absolute bloody disgrace.
Want to watch the most boring and devious thing on television and probably in mankind's history, then tune into a daily live press conference at 11am.

Hunter looks he's running on the spot. Possibly start Long at the stoppage, and Clark back

Yep it is all about the guts. Ryder seems to lack focus , Steele, Jones, Gresham , Sinclair all down. That has been our strength in recent weeks, but they are smashing us .

Clark needs a break.
They all look a bit flat.
Carlisle our best !
See if we can slug it out from here.
They will be aware of their 3 Q struggles.

Think the 4 day break and all the travel is having an affect as they look flat.

Jones only 4 possessions and Steele 7
Both need to lift

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns Round 10 2020
We are getting killed at the stoppages. Witts is on top & so are their mids. Tackling is our barometer. We are spreading but forgetting to pressure by tackling. That's lazy, that's downhill skiing.

True - it’s the first time for a while I’ve seen teams clear it from our forward line without any pressure.Saint_Singapore wrote: ↑Thu 06 Aug 2020 10:17pm Forward pressure is not their without lonie geary and parker.. billings and hunter look tired and lazy.. hope we can find another gear
