Paton turns Papley into Crapley.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Swans Round 9 2020
Great game, had one eye on it all night.
Sydney threw everything at us in the third, we held reasonably strong and they missed a lot. Then the flood gates opened in the last and we brought up the ton!
Great to see King kick 3, Hind flying through the middle, and I was really impressed with Gresh, love him in the forward line (as long as no set shots )

Paton keeping Geary out of his trademark lockdown backman position is not something I expected but a welcome surprise!

Good win. Not sure why, in these shorter games, the boys feel the need to take the third quarters off.

We really should have won that by 90 points.
That third quarter is a worry. Need to get those lapses out of our game. Good sides would habe kicked 6 goals on us.
Last quarter was a clinic. We have.a beautiful brand of football to watch.

Cool under pressure, hungry and fierce in tight and deadly with disposal. Likes a contested mark too
Fast becoming my second favourite player...the All Australian Jack Steele is my number 1

Happy with the win and the margin but we were pretty unconvincing at times - that 3rd quarter was putrid
Huge room for improvement

The backline we have is as good as we have had for a long time.
Mostly young which is very exciting with Howard, Patton, Clark and Coffield.

I'll drink to that.
That's three long standing hoodoos in three weeks. Last three teams we have played had won their last ten matches against us!
EDIT: Port had won last eight - but I won't let facts get in the way of a good story
Geelong in ten nights going to be all important!!!

We know how much upside there is with Hunter Clark. He has the potential to be one of the very best in the competition.
It’ll be great for the for the whole club (and all the youngsters plus the team in general) if we have two or three players earning All Australian honours this year. I think Steele, Butler, Jones, Howard, Marshall and Gresham are a good chance.

We have a genuine AA back pocket in our side. Paton is an absolute beauty. That is Betts, Gray(?) and Papley on his belt now. Very much like Nick Smith, possibly the best back pocket I've watched this century.

Just super impressed yes challenged but most importantly responded that’s what matters
8 goal kickers such an even side I love what Hind brings to this side pace and some smart positioning
When King starts clunking look out

Re: Match Thread Saints v Swans Round 9 2020
Clark has arrived. Has the fitness and poise to realize his talent at this level.
Coffield tracking in a similar direction but not quite there yet. Give him another 5 games or so.
Great to see them maturing together.
Hind has taken Lonies spot.
