I fear that the complexities would remain the same and ego and persona would still serve to have us all believe that an honest days work, deserves an honest days pay. Provided that the state gets it cut, the extrovert gets their cut and the introvert is left alone just long enough to ponder the subjective behaviour of all the fools who can't think for themselves.SaintPav wrote: ↑Fri 26 Jun 2020 10:16amYou have to wonder how some people would cope if they flicked the Television (or whatever) off and had to think for themselves.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Fri 26 Jun 2020 10:08amWhy the obsession with Newcorp & main stream media BarryGrogan?BarryGrogan wrote: ↑Fri 26 Jun 2020 9:41amTo be fair, most of Germany thought they could think for themselves too.
Fascinating WW2 doco on Netflix at the moment.
Unbelievable how history repeats.

Fox News sing from this exact playbook today. Scary that people lap it up.

I've heard that same view expressed on Fox News. However aside from a tiny section of peoole in another country - I haven't actually seen anything of the sort.
Funny that.BarryGrogan wrote: ↑Thu 25 Jun 2020 3:40pm
Unfortunately, the media (shock jocks and editorials disguised as actual news reports mainly) and our politicians push the 'pick a side' mentality for their own gain. It's unfortunate that they do it - and even more unfortunate that people get sucked in to it.BarryGrogan wrote: ↑Thu 25 Jun 2020 10:19am
Oh News Corp media, don't ever change.
"A comedian’s call to change the name of iconic Australian cheese brand Coon.."
"Yesterday, funnyman Josh Thomas took to Twitter with an image of the product alongside the caption: “Hey Australia – are we still chill with this?”"
I can't see where a comedian has called for Coon to change their name??BarryGrogan wrote: ↑Wed 24 Jun 2020 5:56pm
Unfortunately, politicians and the media peddle this and do their utmost to create sides.
Jung was right. People don't have ideas. Ideas have people!

Honestly who cares, he was always over rated at our club IMO.
The fact that he and Seb Ross won multiple B&F’s between them is indicative of how bad our list has been for the last 6-7yrs.

Re: Pisshead
Probably won't reach the heights he did at the Saints, but still getting a game with one of the top sides. I didn't watch the match, but he had 16 disposals, must have been in the game a bit, and stats wise anyway is improving.
Good luck to him. After reading some of the pathetic comments in this thread, I almost hope he has a blinder when the Cats play us.

Yeah that is interesting, couldn't even get up to play for the Saints as he was an hour away from 'home', but no problem being on the other side of the country with the Cats!

Re: Pisshead
The Saints were Steven-centric and while he was up and about at his best, his brilliance was patchy.
He got to a lot of contests last night but wasn't in the right position to receive and got overlooked a lot. That's the difference between our midfield and Geelongs.
It will take a while and a lot of work for him to fit in. The question is, does he have the time and the willingness to do the work?
Recent history is stacked against him and the reality is, at Geelong, he is a second tier mid and average skilled player.

Re: Pisshead
Selwood is injured and Ablett is leaving the Hub to return home to Melbourne due to family reasons.
Had Geelong known just how important he would turn out to be, we may have gotten more than a pick 57 for him, particularly as Jenkins, who they traded pick 35 for, isn't currently in their playing 22.
Through this trade we have almost single handedly kept Geelong in the top four mix.

Young Squizzy Taylor giving pisshead a run for his money in the AFL wobbly guts award (number 28 for the Swans). Not sure how horse Longmire has given him a game. Just 6 touches and coughed up a mark that could have won the game.

Re: Pisshead
When he said he would not play for us this year if he wasn’t traded to Geelong and then we were low balled by Geelong he lost me.
When he retires I will look back at his career fondly but at the moment he plays for a challenging club a club that hurt us in 1991 and 2009 ...I hate them...

Not playing at the moment. It’s pretty hard to understand Scott’s cryptic comments about him either.
On top of that Acres was dropped this week and Bruce has kicked 11 goals for the year. I’d say the club moved the right players.

Admin can we move this thread to the opposition page, before I make a value judgement on how sad it is that some of our supporters bag others out. Oops, think I just did, WTF.
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

“He’s got to complete the plan,” Scott said. “It’s not a matter of putting markers in place that he’s got to achieve.
“He certainly wasn’t behind on anything specific that we were after; we just always had a plan.”
If you can tell me what it means you’re better at reading between the lines than I am. He’s done the pre season, played a couple of games and now he’s got to do a plan that involves not playing games.

Re: Pisshead
Jack has always been a bit fragile. Not a particularly good trainer and not particularly professional in his approach. He isn't playing in the worst St.Kilda list for 2 decades, he has to wait for his shot and maintain a professional outlook while doing it. Seems pretty logical to me. He couldnt manage being a star at the Saints and is 3/5ths short of being a star at Geelong. Not that I care though.remboy wrote: ↑Sun 02 Aug 2020 9:47pm

Re: Pisshead
He had a fantastic game against West Coast.
Geelong desperately needed a backup midfielder with Selwood and Ablett unavailable.
He had 100% efficiency and zero turnovers.
That's what happens when you are left out of the team.

Hopefully he sooks it up and quits in the next few weeks because he can’t get a game, then we can load his money into getting Josh Kelly to the club next year.
