The alternatives in the year we took Hanners were very bleak.
Tom Scully Dylan Shiel, Jared Polec, Chad WIngard Tom Lynch Andrew Gaff on the table for trade
oh and there was a guy that went up to Lions - Lachie Neale - heard he can play too
If you're suggesting we didn't try, then your kidding yourself. As I said, our alternatives were bleak.
Chad Wingard.......lol.
It is not like they were told we don't want you at St Kilda.
They told us, I don't want to be at StKilda.
When you want guys like Scully, Shiel, Lynch and Neale you have to offer them hope on top of money.
Essendon showed Shiel more hope than us.
The better you get the easier it becomes, Richmond had little difficulty persuading Lynch.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

That’s how it looks from the outside, for sure.
Not Hannners fault, his manager knew we had to spend and we’re on the nose.
I suppose he also knows, it is not our fault that we get frustrated, and part of his gig is to stand firm, knowing half the fan base think he is overpaid. That the club is broke, is not his fault, or that some of our hopeful players - players maybe like Battle are getting unders and may be potentiallly enticed elsewhere.
clearly we threw out a line for the big names - but you have to use the right bait
The question if how serious we actually were, given that Lethlean pushed for DH from the start and with reports saying he was a given to come to us half way through the year

How is that not bait? We've got $4m on offer and someone wants it. What bait would you have set?
i think our ongoing trading relationship with Sydney
creates respect both ways
they got plugger n baz
then honoured their responsibilities
we’ve been given 5 good players i can think of
(whilst understanding Members was a delisted free agent)
theres an ongoing long term trust ‘n willingness
between the Clubs , imo , which creates these opportunities
its a more ‘sisterly’ relationship
than the old one with Caaarlton
where we were more vassal state
against Collingwood
.name the ways , thought manipulates the State of Presence away.

Our midfield clearance work is so much better when he’s there. That effort when he ran back with the flight was huge and a great example for a young group.
Hear hear! We did pay overs, its called calculated risk. We are better when he's fit and firing. He's not going to be 24 again but he's smart and does actually direct the mids quite a bit.

Polar opposite is the relationship with The Injectors.
I don't need to explain except to compare that gutter-mob to Arfur Daley from The Minder TV series
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

They also did us a favour by taking Tommy Walsh off our hands.

The swine are thieves. Plain and simple, no matter how you dress it up. They stole Plugger and Boofhead as well as Obey and Daniels. Those pricks owe us as they have cost us a couple of premierships.
