Are we set to play Carlton on Thursday?
It is also believed people at Carlton and St Kilda have been informed to brace for their scheduled Saturday afternoon game at the MCG to move to the primetime Thursday night. Both the Blues and Saints played on Saturday in round four, therefore would only face a five-day break by playing on the Thursday. The AFL has been contacted for comment.

Looks like Thursday night is happening.
Prime time on 7 for back-to-back weeks, I like it.

I’m not happy about the five day break. I’m not concerned about the players, I just don’t think I can get up for another game so soon.

That's enough for me!
If the clubs happy to go bring it on.
Same break as Carlton (for those whop complain about this) and probably gives us an extended break on our next weeks opposition if it means anything.

Changing by the minute. Don’t think the Cats game will go ahead.

Good move. I was a little concerned about the weather on Saturday with showers forecast. I was afraid that some of our boys might catch a cold. Now they will be all warm and safe at Docklands.

Yeah like Geelong were favorites against the Blues at Kadinia Park? Should I load up big or are you thinking on your feet again.

Obviously very light week giving the sore boys a chance. No training tomorrow, just a light run on Wednesday . Think we’ll see a newbie.

Re: Are we set to play Carlton on Thursday?
Last time we trained well we got thrashed and when we trained poorly we won. Now you're telling us we're happy. This doesn't auger well but I hope we do have a happy ending after the game on Thursday.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Are we set to play Carlton on Thursday?
Surely if Jones doesn't get up then the like for like would be Ryan Byrnes. He may not be ready but the injection of speed via blissfully ignorant exuberance of youth might'n't be a bad thing. I hope Bytel gets a go but he's more a Seb Ross / Jack Steele type. I've love to see the speed of Byrnes on a fast deck at Marvel.
Just please NOT Dunstan.
I tell you what though - if ever a game was made for Geary ... it's this one. We need him to absolutely lock the hell down on Docherty. He's a very good player and certainly doesn't look like he's missed 2 years. He's the complete beginning of everything Carlton does moving the ball forward. It's an imperative.
Go you red, black & white warriors
