Anyone bagging Hill or Billings simply doesn’t understand football.

Given your bagging of Zac Jones I understand you’d have no idea

The Media department and Conspiracy department down at the AFL must have got their wires crossed this week, exposing the umpires like that!CURLY wrote: ↑Sun 28 Jun 2020 10:45amGiven your bagging of Zac Jones I understand you’d have no idea

Yes they’ve exposed them as cheats and that they go into games with agendas.

You can add Seb to that list. Kept Dusty to a very ordinary game.

Glad somebody other than me noticed. Seb was given a role to play and carried it out to perfection! Dusty had little influence.

Your hatred of Billings is noted saintkid, has been for some time. It's got to the point now that it's harming any other opinions or arguments you put forward.saintkid wrote: ↑Sat 27 Jun 2020 8:36pmI missed that too but when the game needed a play maker today, Jones did some very good things in close and setting play up in the first half (not sure how you didn't notice that). It is not hatred at all. Far from that. I believe he is overrated and nowhere near elite, as some have commented. I stand by that after watching him for several years now.
He's been on the list since 2013 and he needs to show more. His first really good game for a while was against the Dogs and I want to see more from him and far greater consistency. His game against the Pies was at the opposite end of the spectrum. He's been in the system long enough to lead from the front now in his play making.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Tigers Round 4 2020
Cheers saintkid,
I appreciate it's not hatred, that's harsh but it has certainly become an all consuming bias. Billings nearly made AA in 2018 from memory, had a very good year last year and along with Butler, would be 1 & 2 in this years B&F. To call him out for the Collingwood game you are letting 21 other players off the hook. His game yesterday was very good, he put his head over the ball, drew and took tackles and hit targets with left and right kicks. He goes OK in my opinion. I wish we had a couple more of him.

I do have him under the microscope a bit more than others because of his standing, so I appreciate you pointing this out as a fellow supporter and on the outside it would look like bias to other forum members. I apologize for this.
There are many games however, where I have watched Billings look on and wait for the ball to come to him countless times and I was sitting near him against Melbourne, a few years back, alongside some Demons supporters, when he pulled out of a contest. I am pretty sure I reported it during the game here and others noted it too. The Melbourne supporters sure let us know about it for the rest of the game. So, overlooking this and other aspects of his game was not easy, given his years on the list to date. I am not sure his 2018 year was that good but now, more than ever, as the team finally shows promise again,I do want him to be a vital play maker and leader on the field, to compliment his skills. I hope his 2020 is finally the year he will show it consistently.
The 2020 list is finally showing some promise again after those wonderful yet ultimately heartbreaking 2009 and 2010 seasons. However, our midfield could sure do with another two of our all time favourites again; the one and only Robert Harvey and the irrepressible Lenny Hayes. Cheers

Re: Match Thread Saints v Tigers Round 4 2020
Hard to find negatives about last nights game..I suppose there were some if you looked hard enough but I'll sit back and just enjoy that one.
The Skunks and Bummers lost , hopefully the Cats go down to sweeten the deal.
We seemed to have a system last night which was pleasing, we went backwards after every stoppage to go forward which bamboozled the Tiges although got them their first goal.
In Hindsight the loss to the Skunks was maybe a blip where Ratts just didn't react quick enough to the Skunks early onslaught.
I like what I see and look forward to disposing of the cheats next week.

Ratts mentioned after the match that our side has 'least games played' out of all 18 clubs and average age is second youngest in AFL
There's bound to be some inconsistency but I'll take that if it means having the right people in the footy department with the head cockroach in charge for the next 5 years
