Essendon player tests positive to COVID 19
Don’t know who it is, but karma’s a bitch isn’t it?
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Essendon have been testing positive for years.

Re: Essendon player tests positive to COVID 19
Given this, the increased number of cases in Vic recently, and the reluctance of the WA clubs to extend the hub, I can't see this ending well for the comp this year.

Re: Essendon player tests positive to COVID 19
Anyone still taking the game seriously. The Asterisk Cup will be of less value than our pre season cups.
To put it in perspective, the Gold Coast Suns could end up winning the Asterisk Cup becuse most clubs aren't taking it seriously.

Carlton are due to play Essendon this week but this could be called off as well
If so guess who Carlton play the following week coming off a nice relaxed break
We are seriously cursed

Re: Essendon player tests positive to COVID 19
When was the last time the coach of a powerhouse club like WCE told the AFL they an stick thier comp up thier arse like Adam Simson did in his presser. And this from a team that was clear flag favorites back before COVID-19. You would never EVER get that type of comment from a head coach when you're playing for sheep stations.
Do you need anymore proof of what many AFL people think about the Asterisk Cup. They aren't taking it seriously and that's why it's highly probable a team like the Gold Coast Suns could see an opportunity to exploit the lack of value in a Mickey Mouse Cup by the real flag contenders in the comp.

You obviously haven’t been watching many games if you think it isn’t being taken seriously.
Also, where are all the soft tissue injuries you promised?
And teams travelling on game day have had no problem performing.
Have any of your ‘guarantees’ eventuated are all???

I'll admit I do get some predictions wrong, I predicated that most fans would lose interest within 3 to 4 weeks of the restart, I was wrong, it was within 2 weeks. The round 2 TV ratings dropped through the floor for 7 and fox. So you are right, I haven't watched many games, the quality of the product stinks by comparison to what usually flicks my switch.
Have you read the injury report for round 2, many soft tissue injuries and even hamstrings ripped from the bone.

The round 2 tv ratings were through the roof. If you actually have any stats or proof the round 3 ratings “dropped through the flood”, post a link. I doubt you will.
You haven’t watched many games but have made a blanket (inaccurate) statement about the whole season. Typical rubbish we’ve come to expect from you.
From what I see there would be maybe half a dozen soft tissue injuries from this round. No hamstrings ripped off bones. More lies. Feel free to post a link. Again, I doubt you will.

Re: Essendon player tests positive to COVID 19
Just more of your typical rubbish.
"He's got a little history with hamstrings but they're only very minor normally with 'Xav'," Hinkley said following the match.
"I imagine we'll get a scan that says he's got a hamstring injury that's probably going to be three weeks."
So unless you know more than the coach, you’re just making stuff up, crossing your fingers and hoping for a severe injury so you can celebrate.

Re: Essendon player tests positive to COVID 19
I expect it will ramp up over the next few weeks due to the players being couch potatoes for months and no match conditioning then straight into competition. Under these conditions players will be over stressing soft tissue and exposing vulnerabilities that would ordinarily be adequately conditioned.Devilhead wrote: ↑Mon 22 Jun 2020 10:03pmSounds like an opinion pieceSecret Kiel wrote: ↑Mon 22 Jun 2020 10:00pmLots of people talking about it. Re: Essendon player tests positive to COVID 19
Well we all know what that’s worth...
Any player who was a “couch potato” during the break should be delisted. Nothing was stopping the players from staying in excellent shape.
