The three doggies were the best of the doggies by a long shot - St Kilda had few stand out players - everyone just played better than we expect.

Am I the only one that thought Ryder's stunning silver service to our mids during first 2 and 1/2 quarters, was deserving of at least a MENTION? A ruck clinic he put on with the ball down the throat of our mids which enabled us first use out of the centre!!! A priceless advantage but not one mention in any votes that I've seen.

Some of those hitouts from Paddy reminded me of that guy who flipped the ball over the back in the last seconds of the Port game a couple of years ago.

Correct, it couldn't be that the coaches who officiate have more of a clue of who performed better on the day than a layman supporter who only watched the game on TV.

Must be an AFL conspiracy to cheat Hunter Clark out of a coaches vote, cheating AFL against St Kilda once again  . I don't understand how the Saints allow this to happen.

Cheating umpires, cheating fixture and now cheating Hunter Clark out of Coaches votes!

Clark does a lot of good things. Ball chasing and running out of key defensive posts aren't amongst them. He needs to be more aware of where his man is and he needs to make better choices about blocking the skinny defensive side and leaving his man on the fat side creating a possible overlap or outnumber. Coaches will exploit that.
He is an attacking player and treads the outside waiting to pounce, block and rebound or sweep and drive the ball forward. He does this effectively, if not impressively but you can't be everywhere at once.
If not for bad kicking by the dogs we could have been 18 points behind very quickly early on because of ball chasing on the skinny side of defensive zones. Clark was either running back or on the wrong side on 4 Bulldogs attacks in the first 6 or so minutes. Then he does something brilliant and sets up a goal with 2 possessions in a play.
It got corrected and he worked harder to make better position in the next 3 quarter but a lot of what goes wrong with our backline is pressure we create by bad positioning.
Was he worth a vote, I'd give him one but maybe he is being reminded a bit about both aspects of his abilities. He is a good defender and a good attacker but he clearly has a preference on which way he impacts.
