Re: Footy is off and running.
The canned crowd noise seems effective except when you see the empty seats and are reminded that it is fake.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.
If you are not engaging AI actively and aggressively, you are doing it wrong.
You are not going to lose your job to AI.
You are going lose your job to somebody who uses AI.
Your company is not going to go out of business because of AI.
Your company is going to go out of business because another company used AI.

It's not the same without the classic Aussie Rules footy catchphrase:
BAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.....YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

I consider it "white noise" to stop the game from sounding like training drills.

just think, if this is the type of footy these two serve up, it's going to be a very long weekend.

Loving Netflix right now.
That game wouldn't look out of place in the 1899 VFL Season results.

Re: Footy is off and running.
f***. I turned it off when the filth kicked 4 goals to f*** all in the first quarter.
Then they only managed one goal in the next three.
Would have loved to see the turds get their noses rubbed in the turf though.
Good thing is both sides really lost .
But hey, watched 3 episodes of damages on prime video. Much more enjoyable.
Neither side deserved any points I hear.

Where were all the mass injuries our very own Chicken Little has been telling us about?

Dislike the laugh track but I guess there are too many people uncomfortable with silence to proceed without it.
Hate the shortened quarters. Absolutely no need for it since we're playing in traditional timeslots with a normal amount of days between games. I understand that they may be necessary if there were 3-4 day breaks between games, but they should be scrapped for round 3. Unless the season is interrupted again and we start rapid firing off games, regular quarters should be implemented. Hoping the fans and media keep making noise about it so the AFL makes the change ASAP.

Re: Footy is off and running.
7 just signed up for a 2 year extension and have saved $89M this year due to less games and the shorter quarters so the short games will remain for the rest of the season.mad saint guy wrote: ↑Fri 12 Jun 2020 5:42am Dislike the laugh track but I guess there are too many people uncomfortable with silence to proceed without it.

This first round back is essentially a practice match round due to teams only having 3 weeks of (modified) training together plus the effects of lockdown.
Mentally, most players would be using round 2 as an adjustment round to get their head in the right space for competitive footy.
People working from home who are sent back to the office will encounter similar issues.

Football? That bowl of tripe?
The first AFL match in 10 weeks and the only thing both teams were proficient in was the pre-match virtue signalling in support of rioting looters and assorted miscreants. A good thing the public was locked out, their would have been a riot of people demanding their money back.

Re: Footy is off and running.
I'm the opposite. It's one of the few things that does make it watchable. The noise takes your focus away from the empty stands - it'll get better too - the 2nd round of the NRL was way better than the 1st week. The stupid banners superimposed over the seats on the other hand looks ridiculous - because it's a rounded not rectangle field - they can't calibrate them properly for when the camera pans. It looks like the work experience clicked the stretch button on the graphics program
