Re: Team v Dogs
No Webster, Parker, Hind, Brown, Roberton, Sinclair, or Savage. Tough to get a gig in that backline.

Re: Team v Dogs
If Butler and Kent are picked as small forwards on top of Lonie and Gresham ... that would be the equivalent of "built-in redundancy" .... but dumb selection.
"In engineering, redundancy is the duplication of critical components or functions of a system with the intention of increasing reliability of the system, usually in the form of a backup or fail-safe, or to improve actual system performance."

Re: Team v Dogs
I guess it’s all arbitrary but couldn’t we at least structure correctly on paper?
Thinks it’s my general OCD but Hunter Clarke at CHB really irritates me even knowing that it’s not real

Yep, at this stage. Been a fan of Sincs, hasn't done too much for a while, maybe seen his plateau.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Thu 11 Jun 2020 7:56pm Do you think Butler is a better option than Jack Sinclair?

Re: Team v Dogs
Appreciate that & it suggests to me Carlisle is in. Plus Butler, Marsh & ???
Some good options, I'm hoping Coffield but suspect Dunstan.

Dunstan one of our best in rnd 1. We need him yo take a step up, moreso than just about any other player.

Suggests there is no room for Battle again which I don’t like

Ryder is in Skeptic so it means Battle or Marsh. I love the kick of Battle but Marsh is more versatile & quicker.skeptic wrote: ↑Thu 11 Jun 2020 9:02pmAgreed. With Ryder also in...Ghost Like wrote: ↑Thu 11 Jun 2020 8:53pmAppreciate that & it suggests to me Carlisle is in. Plus Butler, Marsh & ???

Re: Team v Dogs
I really hope you're wrong Saynta. Hind offers so much more against the Dogs than Kent. Pace & defensive pressure will negate the Dogs. I like what Hind offers.

Re: Team v Dogs
Well the backline would want to perform if Roberton cannot get a game in it.
FWIW, I’d have found a way to get him in, even if it meant playing him out of position. He’s a best 22 player and versatile enough to play a number of roles IMO.
Carlisle could be versatile, too, if he wanted to be, but prefers to play loose in defence I believe.

The question for me is with shorter quarters, Battle as a make shift ruck and Dunstan as an extra mid is a better fit

I am a huge Sinclair fan and hope he is back in the team sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately his form has tapered off and he didn't use the pre-season to impress as he should have.

Re: Team v Dogs
I love Battle - he's going to be a serious player - probably as a wingman in the end. I've been watching him since he was in Yr 11 at Hailebury and I can tell you that his vertical leap is not great hence, they've picked Marsh. Marsh can play key forward / back and can play 2nd ruck. I can't see them selecting Ryder - the consensus seems to be that shorter quarters won't suit that strategy (too easy to defend a resting ruckman and easily exploited by a smaller defender running off)skeptic wrote: ↑Thu 11 Jun 2020 11:17pmInt = Battle, Marsh, Hind and Coffield and I’ll take it.ace wrote: ↑Thu 11 Jun 2020 9:55pm B Jarryn Geary - Dougal Howard - Callum Wilkie
